p.s.s. For those who understand typology. Remember the Israelites who were enslaved in Egypt (representing slavery to sin in the NT) and then their escape through the wilderness (representing our faith's journey toward the "Promised Land") unto the land of milk and honey (representing heaven). Escaping sin by following Christ is the beginning.
Excellent point.

1Co 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Christ Jesus is my sancitification. When He died, I died with Him. When He was buried, my sins were buried with Him. When He arose, I arose with Him, sinless and perfect!

In the Father's eyes I am already perfect because I am in Christ Jesus. He is my wisdom, my righteousness, my redemption and my sanctification. (my perfection)

Now, as a result of that and only because of that, I am able to ~ work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure ~ (Phil 2: 12-13 )

If the Father had not already done that magnificent work in my heart at the Cross and resurrection of Christ, I would not even desire to live for Him...i.e. work towards a practical santification....

This is rest of heart, this is the true Sabbath rest, this is peace...

No .. he sees you as you are...
Your adding on,it says how he sees us.

Ephesians 1:4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love

Colossians 1:22
But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—

Point proven, under law,no one ever feels good enough.Condemnation personified!

It is a daily, life-long process. Once we accept the Passover lamb we are allowed free access into the Heavenly Sanctuary!
How could we be allowed in,unless we are totally pure?
Also,I though you said something not done till 1844,as far as when Jesus went into the Holy Place,on another thread?

Paul is clear that the perfection achieved via sanctification is not done at conversion:
Philippians 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Another passage regarding the need for believers to have further sanctification is Hebrews 12:7-10. In that passage God is said to chastise those who are already His "sons" so that they may attain proper "holiness."

p.s. My take on Hebrews 10:14 from back when.
Paul was talkiing about walking in ressurection power. He also said we are free from sin 3 times in Romans 6.Something,or someone is free,is he not?

I have the wrost flesh on the forum!:p
Yet,it says 3 times in rom 6,we are free from sin. That means we are to walk as Jesus did,to get the victory over sin.

One died for all,all died.2 Cor 5:14

Rom 6:8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

I disagree with you on this one. I believe that God meets us where we are in life when we come to him but loves too much to leaves us in that state- his spirit works with in us changing our hearts and minds the process of sanctification cannot come from within us by our strength but only by our willingness to allow the spirit to do His sanctifying work.

Two things...

One, scriptures never promise the eradication of EVIL PRESENT. Paul carried EVIL PRESENT to the day he departed his flesh and carried it therein. Sinless perfection of flesh or of mind is NOT a presentation of the Gospel.

Secondly, you say The Spirit is INEFFECTIVE apart from our 'allowance.' I would point out under the facts of ONE above that EVIL PRESENT will resist Gods Words in ANY PERSON continually regardless of your allowance to the Spirit.
that verse from Hebrews doesn't ,as you have interpreted it, take into account men and women who at the point of conversion still struggle with their sin; such as drug addiction or pornography addiction or anything else that would be a hindrance from us to follow God.

And again, you KNOW where I will LOOK for the workings above that you describe. You on the other hand really have nowhere to go on these matters other than SOLELY THE PERSON...continually and VAINLY asking them to MAKE THEIR EVIL PRESENT responsible when that will NEVER happen. When any person REALIZES they are being MANIPULATED by forces they FALSELY think are ONLY THEM, they will MUCH QUICKER come away from that SLAVESHIP...at least by understanding what is 'really' going on. In fact the MORE WORD that people pour upon themselves on some of these matters, the STRONGER evil present gets...because SIN and EVIL PRESENT are actually aroused and empowered by THE LAW. The harder they struggle to MAKE EVIL RESPONSIBLE...the stronger it will get by forcing it 'under the Law.'

Departing from it is the only way out, even while EVIL PRESENT is still there. The only form of departure available is DISASSOCIATION from that which is OF THE DEVIL.

It is one thing to think that ADULTEROUS THOUGHTS are 'just you' and 'only natural.' It is quite another when you realize IT'S THE DEVIL in your mind or in your body. Many a MURDERING criminal has testified to THIS TRUTH...and some speak openly AS DEVILS in those same men...without SHAME...right before our eyes....yet believers think IT'S ONLY THEM...

it AIN'T...

IF sanctification is not a one time event, then it dictates that non-sanctification continues over and over and one must be RE-sanctified...continually, over and over again.

This places sanctification SOLELY in the hands of the individual.

Sanctification is a past tense ONE TIME event:

Hebrews 10:14
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

We cannot 'make ourselves' more PERFECT than what the ONE TIME offering has already performed. The only thing that chages is our individual 'realizations' of such a thing...which technically 'never ends.' We are ALREADY PERFECT while in the process of realizing BEING PERFECTED...individually.

1 Corinthians 6:11
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Are does not change at the hands of the individual. We ARE all of the above BY THE SPIRIT of our God, and not of ourselves.

enjoy!

This is how I understood it too.
Sanctification meaning "set apart" iirc
Or am I mistaken?

You are right. We as believers are ASSUREDLY not the same as ANY evil present within us.

This is HOW Gods SEES all of us...and the EVIL PRESENT. Paul delineated this in himself FIRST in Romans 7...he then carries that understanding/presentation into ROMANS 9, one of the most hotly contested chapters in the Bible.

Here is the determination of Paul regarding ALL mankind AND their 'evil present:'

Romans 9:
19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory-

God PUTS UP with the EVIL PRESENT, the VESSEL OF DISHONOR within the LUMP of everyone...and HE SUFFERS WITH US in this toleration...right here, right now... HE IS WITH US in our SUFFERING in that BINDING.

Because the intentions of HIM are to DEMONSTRATE HIS ETERNAL DIVINE MERCY to all the VESSELS OF HONOR...

When we understand that WE as Gods children are NOT THE SAME as the vessel of dishonor, the EVIL PRESENT within the LUMP OF ME...

Word springs up unto LIFE to us...

And that same Word brings judgment, condemnation, wrath and eventual UTTER DESTRUCTION to ALL vessels of DISHONOR whom God is presently TOLERATING for HIS OWN PURPOSES.

Who is permitted to enter the Holy of Holies,my flesh,or new man?
Are we seated with him in the heavenly places or not?

I think you should answer boswd's question. Have you sinned since you became a Christian?
