I agree that I need to build my faith. I was going through a lot when I fell away. My schizophrenic worries, and maybe a little bit of demonic oppression. Strangely enough, I don't really feel oppressed anymore though.

Of course, the whole thing could be my schizophrenia, in which case, I have to be extra careful to stay in faith!

What, in your opinion, is the least you have to do to get saved?

Can you answer the question without applying "There is more to Christianity than salvation" arguments?

Everything about God is to do with salvation; salvation from the second death; everything from creation, Adam and Eve, the wrong tree in the garden, the covenant and the Law, is a single plan with a single objective; sorting sheep from goats. Least is a wrong word it signifies a lack of enthusiasm which is required.

Actually there is no long answer here. There is nothing you must do nor is there anything you can do for your salvation. It is a free gift of God and requires no payment or promise. There is literally no action that you can take that will save your soul. The sacrifice has already been done. The price has already been paid.

^^
Yeah, what he said.

Believe and repent. What that looks like is going to be different for every person, because every person has a unique calling by God.

Christ gave His all, and you're looking for merely the least?

Glory to Jesus Christ!

So when the bible speaks of some going to hell, and a lake of fire, and the non believers being damned... you just ignore that or? Also according to this stance even someone like HItler has to be saved though, if there's nothing an individual can do to not be saved.
Pretty much yeah  Jesus haadn't made his sacrifice yet when talked about hell. Christ's sacrifice is sufficient.

So uhhhhhh, half of people who call themselves "Christian" aren't saved?

My bad, let me clarify :)

Salvation is by grace alone, it is the gift of God through faith in Jesus -
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

What I meant by the disciple comment was that, contrary to some beliefs, if you harden your heart to God and fall away, you can lose your salvation. That takes time and a repeated turning away from what the Holy Spirit tells you in your heart (and Scripture) is right. If you choose to be a disciple of Jesus, it means learning to walk in the kingdom of heaven here and now, in this life (spiritually). If you just profess Christ and then stay chained to all the same demons and bad habits you have always walked in, you will be living a defeated life. But if you truly learn and study and do your best to follow Him, and as you learn the presence of the Spirit and the voice of God (not audibly, not to me anyway), you will have a blessed life, and by that I don't mean that life will be easy and it will be rainbows and puppy dogs 24/7, I mean that regardless of circumstances you will have a peace over you because you will see things with spiritual eyes. This also takes time and a concentrated effort on your part. I hope that clears it up and makes more sense. :)

I'm so glad that you returned to Him, you are certainly precious no matter where you are in life.

"Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” - John 14:21

Repent, ask the son of God into your life as your saviour, believing he died for your sins

Pretty much yeah  Jesus haadn't made his sacrifice yet when talked about hell. Christ's sacrifice is sufficient.

But hell and a lake of fire and spiritual death is mentioned in revelations though as well as in the NT books written by Paul. We also see from revelations 21 I believe it is that even when satan returns after the 1,000 year reign some will still be tricked by satan and destined for a lake of fire.

Also I understand your argument more now after your reply. You're suggesting that despite what they did in acts... and so forth.. and despite the bible saying all are sinners and born in sin and shapeth in inequity and we must seek forgiveness for sins you come to the conclusion that JESUS death doesn't just justify us (which the bible suggest) but it does everything. We are adopted+justified by his death alone. There's no action that an individual has to take whether that be seek forgiveness, baptism, holy ghost, repent etc and people like HItler or members of the KKK have a place in heaven, because JESUS loves them.

Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe that's what you're proposing.

The least you have to do is "believe". Then comes all the rest of those things which prove that you, in fact, believe.

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Anyone of these verses will do. Salvation is easy but to many it is very hard to accept.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The least I have to do is nothing. Which is also what Lutheranism teaches--we do precisely nothing to get saved. Faith isn't something we do, it is a supernatural gift of God created in us by the Holy Spirit. We have nothing we could do, or offer; there's nothing we can do to affect our salvation: it has been accomplished already by Christ's death and resurrection, and it is appropriated to us by God through the Means of Word and Sacrament by the power of the Spirit.

Saved from what?

Be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and Love God, and love your neighbor as you love yourself.

This is how you are saved on earth, obedience, what most people call "saved". This is the kingdom of God/the kingdom of heaven.

Actually there is no long answer here. There is nothing you must do nor is there anything you can do for your salvation. It is a free gift of God and requires no payment or promise. There is literally no action that you can take that will save your soul. The sacrifice has already been done. The price has already been paid.

This is grace and redemption. This comes first, for you must be born again, but the holy spirit is like the wind and blow where it listeth.

Become Born-Again (believe IN Jesus). Plain and simple. Regardless of what anyone says. Adding anything else to it makes Christianity "just another religion" of works, of law and "self" to be Saved. It also negates the role of Jesus and why He came. It also says "WE" are our own "Savior".

It can't be earned, and therefore cannot be lost. IF one could lose it, they are essentially "earning" it by "maintaining" it; thus again saying Jesus died in vain.

What does happen though is where people SAY they are Saved and aren't. Ultimately though, ONLY Jesus knows the True Born-Again from those that aren't; since it is a heart matter; and only He can see the heart. But if someone says, "I USED to be a Christian", they never were. Because that is implying one could be "UN-Born-Again". NO ONE that is TRULY Saved would EVER want to "walk away".

It is FAITH and FAITH ALONE that Saves.

dang we got

1. Believe in JESUS

2. Lords prayer

3. Baptism

4. repentance, baptism in jesus name, holy ghost

5. repent, baptism in father, son, holy ghost and receive holy ghost

6. Don't do anything to be saved you're saved

7. Faith

Honestly I would just recommend reading the bible some and seeking God right now and praying for guidance. Worry about the other stuff later. I for sure wouldn't recommend just doing nothing though, pray some seek god and his holy spirit and yeah read. For me it helped to read acts and john some would look into that.

This question is irreverent and practically sacrilegious. Christ says if you do everything he commands perfectly, then to consider yourself nothing but an unprofitable servant. Trying to do the least is not a good idea, even asking about it is not a good idea.

Suit yourself. When asking questions, you have to start somewhere. I can't just regain my faith and start asking questions on end-times, for example.

Is this a response to the proposals to not do anything to be saved or the op?
