No, I think I've heard of it though. I know it means cherry blossom in Japanese, and I know there's a Street Fighter character Sakura, but I doubt they have any connection.

yeah it does mean charry blossom, but there is an Anima names like it, because the girl who is the main character called Sakura...

Sakura Wars and Cardcaptor Sakura both have a main character named Sakura. They are completely different despite both being shoujo. Cardcaptor Sakura is about a girl who actidentially unleashes spirits from clow cards and tries to capture them and return them to the book of clow. Sakura Wars about a girl who joins up with a secret group that masqurades as an acting troupe. This group uses giant robots to destroy evil aliens and protect people.
