Saddam issues arms ban

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has issued a decree outlawing weapons of mass destruction.

The Iraqi parliament opened an emergency session to ratify the decree shortly before the United Nations Security Council convened to discuss Iraq's disarmament.

the new law forbidding the production or import of chemical, biological or nuclear weapons was a key demand of Hans Blix, the UN's chief weapons inspector.

oooooookkkk now this i will have to see hussian not making womd ?lol this so called ban on womd is just another way for him to deceive the un inspectors who are not all that bright in the first place IMHO , do you honsetly think this guy is going to stop ? i highly doubt it ,

what about all the moblie labs he has spread across the country? i mean come on this guy is a ruthless dictator who will stop at nothing to destroy as many ppll as he can ,and so this so called ban on womd is just another trick on his part and the sad thing about it there are countrys who will actully belive him Like france and germany for starters

LOL, I just read this on the BBC News Website.

After I'd finished wiping the tears of laughter from my eyes, I asked myself why he bothered to do it at all.

He's only succeded in demolishing what little was left of his own credibility. This was the most stupid thing he could possibly have done under the circumstances.

Loud protestations of this sort never sound genuine (even on those rare occasions when they are!) and Hussein doesn't exactly have the cleanest record on the block.
