Jared shook his head. "can't do that. we were watched as we left the castle, it was an assassian. He was sent to kill the prince. if we stay here, the prince dies."

Jared walked over to Ares and pulled out a dirty rope and chucked it at the prince. "put it on, then we go. you can share a horse with one of your girlfriends."

"What? How many of you assassians are out to kill Eli?" Tallie asked, growing even more worried.
Eli caught the robe Jared threw at him. He looked at Tallie, silently asking if he could ride with her. Tallie nodded, he could ride with her.
She made a face at the girlfriend comment, but ignored it.

Jared spun around to face Tallie. what ever happened they couldn't know he was one of them. "I'm not an assassian. I just happened to catch wind of the event and got to the prince before they did."

Tallie sighed..She looked at Eli then back towards Jared.
"Okay what do we need to do?" she asked as she walked towards her horse. She waited before mounting to see what Jared said, and on Eli.

Jared mounted Ares. "we need to get going. Eli, you will use the name you gave me when we first met. if anyone asks, we're siblings traveling together to join up with our parents. I know someone who can help us, he lives a few villages away. he's a fellow underground worker and will be more than happy to help."

Galena listened to the conversation that was going on around her; as she gathered her herbs and stuff together into her satchel. Upon hearing the comment about being a girlfriend of the prince, she started to get up and face Jared. But a nicker from one of the horses drew her attention back to the task at hand. Galena took a deep breath before walking over to the horses. The ride to where they were resting at was not so bad as she thought it would be. As she mounted her horse, she heard Jared speaking about their destination. "We do not know your name?" she asked Jared. "If we are to be siblings, we need to know each others names."

Jared shrugged, it was a good point. Although if everything when as he planned they wouldn't need names, but still he needed them to feel somewhat familer with him.
"You can call me Devon." Jared stated as easily as if it was his own name.

"Alright..." Eli said as he put the robe on.
"What name?" Tallie asked as she climbed up into the saddle.
"Its Liam." he said as Tallie let him climb up into the saddle first. Eli gave her a hand up behind him.
It was a tad uncomfortable sitting double, but Tallie thought she could tolerate it for a while.
"I dont know how long the horse will hold out with both of us ridding him" she said to Jared.

"Big brother Devon" Tallie said sarcasticly, under her breath. She hoped no one had heard her, but Eli did.
"Tal, dont irratate him" he wispered to her.
"I'm sorry" she said looking over at Jared hoping he hadn't heard her.
"I think you know my name by now but...anyways...I'm Tallie"she said loud enough for "Devon" to hear.

Jared nodded briefly to Tallie as she said her name. "don't worry about the horse, we'll take back roads to the next village and we'll trade in your horse and get two new ones before we move on."

Jared turned Ares towards the west and started him out at a walk and called out over his shoulder. "we won't be in the village long, we'll sleep in the wild on the other side. we shouldn't be in the village long so don't try to attract attention to us."

Galena nodded her head at Jared's answer, she could sense that Tallie was not very happy with him at all. She turned her horse to face the direction of the next village, being a healer she was very familiar with the villages in the surrounding area. How am I going to get a message to my mentor she thought to herself before replying to Jared/Devon. "My name is Galena, you may call me Lena when we are in the villages." she responded in a very quiet voice. Galena pulled her cloak tighter and clicked to her horse to move forward and follow the others. As they trotted along the road, she looked at Jared "I will need to have a note sent to my mentor saying I will be gone for a time period. If I do not have it sent she will send someone to look for me. Gslena paused before going on, you may read the note before I send it"

Jared nodded breifly to Galena. "You can send a note, and I don't need to read it. be aware if you do tell him what happened it will only put you and the prince in danger. the assasian guild does not take kindly to people who know of their existance, much less people who try to thwart them."

"I understand the danger, she will not do anything to risk other lives" said Galena. She looked toward the sky and whistled a low whistle. Out of nowhere a hawk flew down and landed on her out stretched arm. "Hello, my precious" she said as the hawk walked up her arm and onto her right shoulder. Galena reached into her bag for what she needed, after she was done she rolled the small piece of paper up and tied it to the hawk's leg. "Fly, my precious; fly safely back to me" she said very quietly to it, as she lifted the hawk toward the sky.

Jared turned to face Galena as she whistled, he had to admit he was impressed. trainning an eagle was no small feat.

Galena watched as Precious flew off with her message to Gala, it was not the first time she had been gone for a period of time. Gala trusted her young protege with her instincts and that she would be back in her time.

Jared turned Ares. "come on, we're burning daylight." Jared nudged Ares into a fast trot as he headed towards the next town.

It was a long ride through the rocks, and the sun was starting to get low in the sky by the time they reached the town. Jared himself was used to little or no sleep, but he was starting to wonder how the girls would handle being awake for so long.

the guards at the gate stopped them, but Jared had expected this since news of the princes kidnapping or death would be wide spread by now.

"What business do you have here?" the guard asked.

Jared turned to the guard to respond. "I'm Devon Riddley and these are my siblings. we're passing through after our vacation with our Aunt and Uncle."

The guard walked around the group as if sizing them up then turned to Galena. "I hope you had a good time, and haven't run into trouble on your way home."

Jared watched the guard, careful not to look to eager. he knew better than to answer for Galena, he knew that would throw them into suspicion. Still, Jared couldn't help but tense up slightly, she could raise the alarm and then everything would be ruined.

Galena turned her head so her long hair fell across the left side of her face hiding the scar. She watched the guard as he walked around them and then he turned toward her. As he asked her about "the vacation" her eyes darkened to a golden brown. "We did have a good time, I was glad to see them." she responded, "The Great Spirit has watched over us during our trip" Galena waved her hand toward the sky as she answered the guard.

Jared fought the urge to roll his eyes, he had picked up religious girls, he hoped they didn't try to indoctrinate him.

the guard smiled accepting the answer. "I hope you make it home safely. Be careful, there's murders about."

Jared nodded his thanks for the advice and started Ares into a walk as the guard waved them past.

Jared lead the group through the streets until they reached the stable. Jared dismounted outside and lead Ares inside. they were quickly met by a younger male.

"can I stable you're horses, sir?" the kid asked.

Jared shook his head. "I need your master, we want to sell some horses and buy new ones."

the boy nodded and rushed off. Jared turned to the girls and Eli. "look around, the ones down there should be the ones for sale. don't worry about the money, and leave your horses here, I'll negotiate while you look."

Jared turned back as the boy returned with an older man. Jared smiled and nodded to the man. "Hello Sir, my brother and sisters were looking to get fresh horses. Jared waved his hand towards the horses."

the man looked towards Ares first, "what a fine Stallion..."

Jared put his hand possessively on Ares' bridle. "except this one. my siblings will be picking out horses while you examine our horses."

the man tisked. "shame, he could fetch a handsome price." the man turned to the others and smiled. "You will find I have some of the finest horses around, you will not be disappointed. Jack, show them the horses." the man waved the boy towards the girls and Eli then walked over to Tallie's horse to look it over.
