Isaiah 40:22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

Aramaic Bible - Plain English
And him who sits on the sphere of The Earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretched out the Heavens like a vaulted bowl, and stretched them out as a tent for a dwelling

Douay-Rheims Bible
It is he that sitteth upon the globe of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as locusts: he that stretcheth out the heavens as nothing, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.

Job 26:10
He has marked a circle on the surface of the waters
At the boundary of light and darkness.

The intersection of a ball with a plain is a circle.

The light from the Sun at the edge points on Earth - forms a circle around the Earth only because Earth is not a flat object. If it were not a sphere that would not happen.

=======================

The large number of observed lunar eclipses at every position all over the sky -- proves the earth is round -- and in fact is a sphere.

"The Hebrew word that is translated as “expanse” in the NASB is raqia. This word is translated as “firmament” in the KJV Bible and “vault” in the NIV Bible. The Hebrew word occurs seventeen times in the Old Testament (Genesis 1:6, 7 (occurs three times), 8, 14, 15, 17, 20; Psalm 19:1; 150:1; Ezekiel 1:22, 23, 25, 26; 10:1; Daniel 12:3). In Genesis 1 the word always has the idea “of something that is created by being spread out.”

"The basic meaning of the noun is determined by a consideration of the verb raqia. Here the basic idea is “to spread out,” and specifically the spreading out of the earth at creation (cf. Ps. 136:6; Isa. 42:5; 44:24) or the spreading out of the sky (cf.Job 37:18). In Isa. 40:19 the meaning is to overlay or plate (with gold). A raqia, then, is something that is created by being spread out either by stretching (e.g., a tent) or by hammering . . .1

"Therefore in Genesis 1:6-8, the word refers to space that was created between the waters – the waters below and the waters above. Psalm 19:1 uses raqia to the heavens being stretched out. Both Psalm 150:1 and Daniel 12:3 actually refer to heaven being stretched out. In Ezekiel 1:22, 25, 26 raqia refers to an area above the heads of the “living beings.” In Ezekiel 1:23 raqia has a different meaning or nuance since it refers to the wings of the “living beings” being spread out. Then in Ezekiel 1:25-26 it becomes clear that raqia is an area above the angels and God appears above the raqia. This helps us understand that raqia does not refer to a solid dome with a sea of water or a river of water above a dome. It refers to an expansion or an expanded area.

The New International Dictionary of Old Testament Theology & Exegesis provides a detailed explanation of raqia as follows:

"This term, often rendered as firmament, is translated as expanse (Gen 1:6; Ezek 1:22; 10:1, etc.), skies (Ps 19:1 samayim, heavens), or heavens (Ps 150:1; Dan 12:3) in NIV. In Gen 1 :8, God called the expanse, samayim. The term is hyponymous to samayim; i.e., what raqia refers to is included in what samayim refers to, as in the expanse of the sky (Gen 1: 14, 15, 17, 20). Cf. Akk. burumu, firmament (of the heavens) (CAD B:344-45).2

Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament defines raqia in detail. The reader should notice that . . .

"raqia may refer to a limited space, such as that of the canopy over the cherubim, under the throne in Ezekiel’s vision (1:22, 26). Or it may refer to the broad “expanse of heaven” (Dan 12:3, NASB), as it does in thirteen of its seventeen occurrences.3

"That is, raqia refers to a region that has been stretched out or has extent. Keil & Delitzch summarizes the meaning of raqia in Genesis 1 as “to stretch” or “to spread out.”

. . . from raqia to stretch, spread out, then beat or tread out, means expansum [sic], the spreading out of the air, which surrounds the earth as an atmosphere.4

Try the Complete Jewish Bible CJB

God said, “Let there be a dome in the middle of the water; let it divide the water from the water.” God made the dome and divided the water under the dome from the water above the dome; that is how it was, and God called the dome Sky. So there was evening, and there was morning, a second day.

I think a lot of people can see how water in the seas - is separated from water in the upper atmosphere by an "expanse" of atmosphere.

My point is that the "circle" is also viewed as "sphere" and "globe" in Is 40:22

Isaiah 40:22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

When you stand on earth does the sky look like a dome?

LOL.
Ok. You're telling me the sky over us, that CLEARLY looks like a dome, does not look like a dome? Why bother measuring azimuth and altitude? The portion of the sky we can see where we are standing Is called the "sky bowl". Flat Earth models consistently show a "dome" above the earth.

What DOES it look like to you?

plus what Moses wrote was inspired by God. It is not mans view of God's creation.
"Inspired" can mean a LOT of different things. IT can be both inspired AND his own view and understanding of creation.

Untill i learned that The Bible in some translations used dome for raqia. As being a visul artist and on top of that, a landscape artist as being one of the areas i focus my craft on. I basically viewed the sky as the backdrop to land.

So how do you measure the sky? If it's a backdrop I will assume you use distance measurements like miles/kilometers/yards whathaveyou?

And I don't understand how you can have a "backdrop" that envelopes you.

In painting it is a related to the picture plane. My measuring is only needed by an accurate eye judgment..

OK. World's bigger than you though. How are people expected to measure it?

look this began with you asking me When you stand on earth does the sky look like a dome?

And i said no and i gave the reason why.

Now why are you still asking questions about the sky and now about measuring the sky. Really what does this have to do with, how before i knew The Bible called the raqia in some translations a dome.

I'm sorry. I'm having trouble understanding why you don't consider the sky a dome when you view it, as per your answer in post 9

Because i know the dome extends way past my horizon. So if i am looking at the sky from my position, i know there is more miles way beyond my field of vision.

I asked if it LOOKS like a dome. Not whether it is one.
