  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, what is sauce for the goose........List errors and inventions/traditions invented by the Papacy aka Roman catholicism. :groupray:

One of mine would be the way Roman catholicism looks at the eucharist.

LLOJ [still waits on chopsticks]

if i would want to sit and think about what errors i could find in Roman Catholicism, i would have to be fair to sit and think about if there are anyl errors of Protestantism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and all Christian denominations, since all it is a family feud? and since i'm not part of the family anymore, i don't want to be an outsider that puts fire in the century old family feud.

Would that be anything akin to the religion of Judaism's Talmud?

The Papacy itself!!!

-or-

Do you also mean things such as the Donation of Constantine which was used by the Papacy even after it was a proven forgery?

Don't leave out the other major forgeries that along with the Donation of Constantine became the foundation of Roman Catholicism:

"The Thesaurus of Greek Fathers"---a total fraud

"The Pseudo-Isidorian Decretals"---a total fraud

"Liber Pontificalis"----likewise a fraud

Of course there are many, many more, so many in fact that at one point during the dark ages, prior to the schism in 1064AD, the Greeks refused to accept any documents from Rome, calling Rome a "forgery factory".

Well the Talmud appears to have more in common with the Book of Mormon me thinks. ^_^

Genesis 1:3 And 'Elohiym is saying, "he shall become Light" and he is becoming Light
4 and 'Elohiym is seeing the Light that good. And 'Elohiym is seperating between the Light and between the Darkness.

John 1:3 All-things thru Him became/egeneto <1096> (5633) and apart-from Him became/egeneto <1096> (5633) not-yet one-thing which has become/gegonen <1096> (5754).
4 In Him life was, and the Life was the Light of the men.

Instead of breaking the Body of Christ apart.

Then Rome should repent of it's doctrinal errors, admit the damage it has done to the Body of Christ and reounce everything I have listed so far.
Let's come together in prayer.

I pray that Rome repent and come back into the Fold of Truth.

What about Canon 28 of the councel of Chalcedon?
which gave equal power to Rome and constantinople...

No, you're a protestant. You have given into protestant ideology.

No, he's a True Catholic. The term "Protestant" was a term invented by Romans as a slur and smear of Evangelical Catholics(whom Romans call--Lutherans) and Reformed Catholics(whom Romans slur with the term they invented---Calvinists).

We are True Catholics, whereas Romans usurped the name.

Maximus said that the pope was infallible and the supreme rule of the Church and world. Of course, your Church rejects those words just like they rejected his words 120 years ago because it doesn't suit them.

They are right to reject them. False claims are to be rejected.

Tell you what, the Greeks throw great wedding parties.

I have a long time client, and a good friend, a Greek lady who came here to the US after WWII as a teenager. As soon as the war was over and her family could come out of the cave they were living in, they came here.

First time we did a lot of work for her, she invited me to join them in their Paschal celebration at her house. It was a lot of fun, we dug a pit in the back, roasted a lamb on it while tossing down Uzo.

At her grand-daughter's wedding party held at her house, we did the same, and danced all day and into the night.

Greeks throw the best wedding parties I've ever been to.
