Rock 'N Roll

Now, I'm not gonna give some big proffesional analysis or anything, but I'm just wondering, what are you thoughts in general about Christian Rock 'N Roll? Me, personally, I think it'll help get through to the youth of this generation and it's a great thing. But I'm aware that there are some people who believe Rock is an actual purely secular style of music. This is just my opinion, so I want to hear yours.

there is probably Christian rock out there that doesn't suck, unfortunately, I can't say the same for the Christian metal scene.

I don't know of any Christian rock bands, that's why I stay here in the secular music forum. I think there's maybe a forum for you if you hunt a little harder

I very much agree. A friend of me really likes music like evanescence (?) and Enya and so on, and she wondered why isn't there Christian music like that? So she looked around, and found a Christian band that has very good lyrics, and the same music style as Enya etc. I think it's good, it reaches out to different kinds of people.

There's music out there, and if not 'Christian' music there are plenty of 'Christian' rock n rollers around.

I don't think this is an issue of cheese: the music that sucks, the lyrics are fine.

If they are going to be in a band, though:
RULE 1: MAKE THEIR OWN, ORIGINAL MUSIC!!!!!
I hate to hear Christian music & suddenly I hear riffs & fills from some heathen band. I know heathen bands do it, but I expect more out of someone that's supposedly doing this as ambassadors of Christ.

Then, when I gently point this out, say in a CD review, MY WORD the Christians GO NUTS & accuse me of all kinds of evil things, while 1. defending their hero's right to steal; 2. denying any stealing took place at all since heathen bands do it all the time & the lyrics are positive-whatever!
