We can divide Dan 8:13-14 into 4 parts: 1) the daily sacrifice is 'cut off', 2) the transgression (alternately translated 'rebellion that causes desolation'), 3) the sanctuary being trampled, and 4) the restoration of the sanctuary.

1) refers to the Locusts of the 5th Trumpet/ 1st Woe. This is the 'tail of the dragon'. Tails refer to false prophets (Isaiah 9:15) who throw stars to the ground (Revelation 12:4).

2) These 'locusts' are selling people into spiritual slavery (via the mark of the beast) to the Greeks (Joel 3:5), the end time Daniel 8 Little Horn who throws stars to the ground (Daniel 8:10). This is the 'transgression'/ 'rebellion'. This is when the red dragon has 7 heads, 10 horns, and 7 crowns (Revelation 12:3). This is the #7 king of Revelation 17:10 - because it has 7 crowns.

3) the sanctuary is trampled during the 1260 days of the 2 witnesses in Revelation 11:1-2 and the city is trampled for 1260 days. This is where the #8 king of Revelation 17:10, who is the Daniel 7 Little Horn, makes the 7 year covenant. When the 10 horns become 10 kings in Revelation 13:1, then we know that the Daniel 7 Little Horn has arrived. The 'red dragon' (the Daniel 8 Little Horn) gives his throne to the Daniel 7 Little Horn and the Dan 7 Little Horn makes the covenant.

4) When the Daniel 7 Little Horn, the #8 King of Rev 17:10, breaks the covenant and defiles the temple, there will be Daniel 9's 70 weeks to 'finish the transgression' and anoint a holy place - which 'restores the sanctuary' (Daniel 8:14.)

Add all these time frames up for the 4 phases, you get Daniel 8:14's 2300 days.

Here the locusts are 'cutting off the sacrifices':

The ten toes in Daniel 2 will be ten EU leaders. The feet and toes are the end times extension of the Roman Empire. Parts of the EU are as strong as iron, while other parts are weak as clay.

The prince who shall come in Daniel 9:26-27 originates from the Roman Empire, as it was the Romans who destroyed the city and temple.

But that person also has to be a Jew. A military leader and political leader is what the Jews are expecting of their messiah. Which has me suspicious of Zelenski.

The Jews also expect their messiah to be anointed the King of Israel by a Jewish prophet. Which would be the false prophet of Revelation 13. I am suspicious that the Yanuka who is making a big splash in Israel may be that person.

I agree partially with what you say above except that I would not use the word demon, simply because it does not appear in the Revelation.

Antiochus IV Epiphanes is a type also of the man of sin of 2 Thess 2 who is also called the son of perdition, and the 2nd of only two men called the son of perdition - the fist being Judas Iscariot, of whom we are told that Satan entered him. Both are said to exalt themselves - Antiochus had exalted himself to the incarnation of Zeus, the father of the gods whom the Romans called Jupiter, the king of the gods.

He placed an idol in the temple - an image of Zeus - which did not result in the destruction of the temple. The man of sin of 2 Thessalonians 2:4 will himself be the idol in the temple, so I agree with this being the AoD of Matthew 24:15 - if we understand that the New Testament sanctuary where the man of sin seats himself, is not a physical sanctuary.

The above is unlike the temple and city of Daniel 9:26-27, which was destroyed. Therefore I believe that 2 Thess 2:1-4 points us back to the types of both Judas Iscariot and Antiochus IV Ephiphanes, and Daniel 7's 4th beast, and the verses you mentioned in Daniel 8, 11 and 12 point us forward to the beast of the Revelation.

And to me this makes the man of sin the 8th king of Revelation 17 and the king who opens his mouth in blasphemy against God to blaspheme His name, His Tabernacle, and those dwelling in heaven (Revelation 13).

So unlike ewqr, I do not see the man of sin himself as performing the miracles and lying wonders and works of Satan mentioned in 2 Thess 2, because these are done by the false prophet (Revelation 13).

Babylon, Persia and Greece - the lion, leopard and bear of Revelation 13 and Daniel 7 are the same territories/the same region covered by the later Seleucid kingdom of the Northern king (Antiochus IV Epiphanes), which is one of the two kingdoms (Egypt in the South) and Syria in the North which emerged as the two most powerful kingdoms of the four kingdoms which followed the death of Alexander the Great.

In my opinion it's a mistake is to apply everything written in Daniel 8 and 11 with regard to Antiochus' wars with the kings of the South (Egypt) and with Babylon/Persia's kings (North of the Seleucid Empire of Antiochus IV Epiphanes), to the beast of Revelation, merely because Antiochus IV Epiphanes is the type, and the Antichrist the antitype.

The ten kings are said very clearly to reign with the beast for one hour, and will hand their kingdoms and authority over to him. Those ten kings had not yet come when John received the Revelation - and John was prophesying in the days of the 6th head and its kings.

So the 10 kings who were still to come can only = the 7th head, and the beast is the 8th king - just like Antiochus IV Epiphanes was - he was the 8th king of the Seleucid Empire ("the kings of the North").

The Ptolemaic kings of the South that we read about in Daniel 8 and 11 were the kings of the Egyptian kingdom.

Some dispensational commentators have said that this refers to the death and resurrection of the beast, also mentioned in Revelation 13 (Robert Thomas and others). While I agree that the Antichrist dies and rises again, this particular verse doesn't seem to be referring to the death and resurrection of the Antichrist.

They read more into the Revelation that what is written. It's not written that the kings are demons, and it's not written that anyone is going to die and rise again. These are assumptions based on interpretations of what is written, but it's still not written that anyone is going to die and rise again - and the interpretations of what is written can be wrong or partially wrong and lead to false assumptions.

It could be the kingdom of the ancient Seleucid Middle Eastern Empire that is being spoken about as the beast that was, is not and yet exists or will exist as the 8th king. It could also be the 'resurrection' of Antiochus who never died. The Maccabees speaks of his flesh rotting and being eaten by worms while he was still living. The beast and false prophet of the Revelation are said to be thrown alive into the lake of fire.

It's all a mystery to me but I make no assumptions that go beyond what is written.

Paul's man of sin is John's false prophet because both are described as performing miracles/wonders that deceive people. The ten horned beast in Daniel 7 and Rev 13 is a kingdom/empire, not a man, and is not written to perform any miracles.

2 Thess 2 does not say the man of sin himself will be performing miracles and deceiving people. It merely says his appearance will be in accordance with the working of Satan:

The ten horned beast in Daniel 7 and Rev 13 is a kingdom/empire, not a man, and is not written to perform any miracles.

Revelation 17 and 13 depicts the ten horns as kings, and Revelation 17 states that these ten will hand their authority and power over to one king - an 8th king - with whom the 10 kings will reign for one hour.

This 8th king is also the beast ascending from the abyss, according to Revelation 17:8; Revelation 17:11-13; Revelation 13:1.

The empire/kingdom you speak of is not headless (in terms of not having any political authority), according to the scriptures. It has a king - one king - who will have authority for one hour with 10 more kings who are of one mind and willingly hand over all their power and authority to him.

In Daniel the beasts are synonymous with their kings. Separating the two means you have no kingdom - because a kingdom/empire always has at least one king ruling over it.

(Note: Antiochus IV Epiphanes - the type of the Antichrist - was also the 8th king of the Seleucid Empire, and was not legitimately the heir, though he was one of the Seleucid princes).
