  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Rev 14:12, what does it mean?

You cannot quote a single phrase form John's works showing he is promoting the law.

Until you read John 14:15
Until you read Rev 14:12
Until you read 1 John 5:2-3

And of course Hebrew 8:6-10 tells us it was CHRIST speaking the Ten Commandments at Sinai.

No wonder then under the "NEW Covenant" of Jer 31:31-33 "I will write My LAW on their heart and mind".

"do we then make void the LAW of God by our faith? God forbid! In fact we establish the Law" Rom 3:31

"it is not the HEARERS of the LAW that are just before God - but the DOERS of the LAW will be JUSTIFIED... on the day when according to my GOSPEL God will judge" Rom 2:13

Until you read John 14:15
Naw, I read it many times and ask about 15:10 you avoid like the plague.
Until you read Rev 14:12
Naw there is not word ten in the verse. Besides that it would not agree with Johns other works even when you add in 14:15 as above.
Until you read 1 John 5:2-3
Naw because the same letter says very clearly to keep the commands of Jesus. You do not like it either.
And of course Hebrew 8:6-10 tells us it was CHRIST speaking the Ten Commandments at Sinai.
Naw again.
No wonder then under the "NEW Covenant" of Jer 31:31-33 "I will write My LAW on their heart and mind".
That is nothing more than an unassociated phrase form the full sentence showing otherwise.
"do we then make void the LAW of God by our faith? God forbid! In fact we establish the Law" Rom 3:31
I surly do acknowledge the law exists. I do not acknowledge its continued authority. with quote a few verses you continue to ignore.
"it is not the HEARERS of the LAW that are just before God - but the DOERS of the LAW will be JUSTIFIED... on the day when according to my GOSPEL God will judge" Rom 2:13
Problem is the same book says there are no doers. You ignore that too.

Not seeing an answer, I thought one should be posted.
The answer is Yes. The testimony of Yeshua (Christ) would mean any one that has Him in their hearts.

Going back over this board, I seen something I must have missed the first time. My I ask, what your take on Colossians 2:16 is? More to the point, why do you think that Sabbath's was used rather just Sabbath? I would also like to know how you came to that understanding.
I have my take on it, and I know it is not popular, Still it is backed by the Bible. The reason we have the plural usage is that Paul was speaking of the Sabbath days that go with the feast. As they are found in Lev. 23. I thank you now for your answer, and may HaShem bless you for the work do in it.

I think sabbath is plural because it's frequent and also includes the special sabbaths. The weekly sabbath is the first sabbath mentioned in Lev 23.

Never looked at it that way before. You have shown me something new, thank you.

How do you reply in this manner? You know with the parts you answer quoted just above your answer to that part. As you did in post 42.

It is pretty simple. When you respond to a post, have you noticed what precedes your entry? The back slash with the word "quote" in square brackets. When you finish that response you do the same without the back slash. You can go to the more options and play with it till you get it right. Just use the preview before posting.

Kindly explain Rev 14:12. I don't see anything about the ten commandments in the verse. No where in any of John's writings do we find the ten commandments are required for the Christian. The Gospel of John is very different from the others.
This seems like such an odd statement for anyone who follows Jesus to say.

"Sabbaths" is used because in Lev 23 you have a list of annual holy days - "Sabbaths" that are given "in sacrifices" pointing forward as shadows - to the death of Christ.

ok well then - agreed.

Very good point.

Jesus is the one that gave us the TEN Commandments as even in the NT reminds us in Hebrews 8:6-10.

"If you Love Me KEEP My Commandments" John 14:15
A quote of "Love Me and KEEP My Commandments" Exodus 20:6'

Commandments where the 5th Commandment "Is the FIRST commandment with a promise" Eph 6:2
