That’s not liberalism, that’s just common sense

Unfortunately, ‘free will’ isn’t a scientific reality. It is a myth inherited from Christian theology.

The idea of freewill has been around a lot longer than Christianity.

Theologians developed the idea of ‘free will’ to explain why God is right to punish sinners for their bad choices and reward saints for their good choices.”

Any God that punishes bad behavior and rewards good behavior is not a God of freewill.

As I been growing up with computer programming and have a long career with IT I been thinking often about AI and end times. If AI will supersede human brain computing power and it can learn by itself it will eventually outsmart us all, without us even knowing it. This is logical conclusion. Of course God will have a say in this, whatever it may be.

AI would be capable in unbias decisions and presumably prioritize the future of worlds ecological state. What happens humans in this process is the big wildcard.

All markers in my head point to AI having big role in the end times. What do you guys think?

Well considering the heads of the world's religions recently rewrote the Ten Commandments to be about the environment and AI would be cold hearted enough to deal with human handling and elimination without a thought, I'd say you were right. A perfect setup for the Adversary to establish it's own global kingdom over that of the one promised by God.

So free will is an invention of christianity. Wonder why The Jews did not follow the will of God when The Messiah and John came.

I disagree with this assessment.

As complicated as the computational process is; and as closely it might try to mimic a human neural network; it's still "garbage in, garbage out."

AI will not be able to make unbiased decisions as it is entirely dependent on human input and always will be. It's decisions can only be made according to the information it is given. By nature, it will therefore be biased. The question is: toward what?

The reality is that it could be used for nefarious purposes by human beings, a corporation etc. But what wpuld that look like? The tech space is in an interesting place right now. There is a growing sentiment that is suspicious of technology and the way it has been used to manipulate others. See the state of social media and the fallout(s) taking place around that. The age of naivety around the power of tech to manipulate is coming to an end.

The Bible does not talk about free will. The Bible talks about choice. Choose life or death, sickness or health, blessing or curse, poverty or prosperity. Is there anyone in prison that would not be there if they had made the right decision and the right choice? Oh, I know there are people who think they are the victim of circumstances but are they really? Maybe we are the victim of not making the right choice to avoid the things we should have avoided.

The scientific materialist view already makes us machines. There is no mind or consciousness beyond the mechanical processes of nature. So technically we should be able to build Ai with consciousness. Under this view there is no nature and everything is socially constructed. We can reconstruct nature to do just about anything. So its already happening. The machine is creating the machines which will create more machines. Then it will be hard to tell what is real and therefore the machine has become the god.
