  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think so ... at any rate, I had a little grey camera that took B&W photos and it was wonderful! Now, of course, I'd love to own a digital camera. :D

Remember school camps? (Not my favourite memory!) :D

hahaha yes....we'd run and say "Waaaait a minute!"

Do you remember when everybody in the neighborhood sat out on their porches at night and all the kids played together like one big happy family and chased light'ning bugs?

Yes, I do.

Remember the excitement of going into town in the last week before Christmas with your saved up pocket money safely in your wallet, and taking hours to choose the little gifts you wanted to buy for your family and friends? (Course, it took me so long because I loved the whole atmosphere of excitement, the coloured lights decorating every store and the anticipation of giving out the gifts on Christmas Day.) :)

I have a theory about baseball. If a team doesn't win a Wolrd Series at least once every 100 years they should be disbanded and the players redistributed among all the other teams (based on need not on the ability of the Yankees to buy them). Then there would be no bashing to be had! ;)

Yep, sure do. It was still commercialized, but not anywhere near as bad as today. And I think we already have a few Christmas things out along with the Halloween stuff already...

Remember when school didn't start till AFTER Labor day, every year? When did that change btw?

Yup. We NEVER went back before Labor Day, and were always out by the end of May! It changed when Christmas and Easter vacations were made longer, and teachers were given more in service days.

Remember when we could sing carols in school?

Yes, at primary school we used to have a Christmas show for our parents every year. I remember our choir teacher was always telling us to go cleanly from a low note to a high note, and not to sliiiiide up to the note! I love choir singing!

Yes, if I delve deeply into my memory! ;) I've been a night owl for most of my life, but I can get up early if I have to. :D

Remember when your current age seemed ancient to you, when you were a child? :D
