• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you know the truth yet?

Does just accepting Christ and repenting for your sins make you the leading scholar on what is truth and what is not?

You don't have to sugarcoat the truth. But also try not to coat it with a foul-smelling bitter paint.

Do you believe in any truths?

You are telling him that here! You are obviously suggesting that they are repugnant (not necessarily to you, but to some; driving them away). As I said, you are the only one denying what you are saying.

Yes, some people find the idea that all non-Christians are going to burn forever in hell to be repugnant. That was my WHOLE POINT.

Okay, let me use a story example to show you exactly what I'm getting at.

A man is trying to coax his dog over to him by speaking angrily at it. The more he speaks, the more the dog shies away from him as it hides in a corner of the room.

Another man walks up and says, "You know, I don't think that's going to work. If you spoke more kindly, maybe the dog would come to you."

The first man says to the second man... "Hey, I can say whatever I darn well please! Quit trying to quash my freedom of expression!"

He believes that. You don't. I don't. He's on a forum, so are you. Is he forcing you to hear him? No

Great analogy, but people are capable of reason. He believes that if he tells you 'the truth' you are big enough and bright enough to understand this.

Maybe he's wrong.

You got me there ;)

I have found out to my utter chagrin that people love fighting over truth!

Let's fight then, brother!
The good thing is that it's online, and not on a battle-field.

Some people seem to object to even this type of 'battle' happening. They feel that they're forced to enter this forum and are forced to listen to some dude telling them that they're going to burn in hell.

Prove to me that it's really the truth, and I'll convert in a millisecond.

And no, the Bible doesn't count as proof.

I believe in TRUTH and TRUTH alone. There are no truths. Only TRUTH.

Believing in truth is different from knowing the truth.

I believe in truth. I still don't know the TRUTH.

When I know, I AM TRUTH.

That seems about to cover every argument at once. Well done!

That's a totally different argument. You've switched from arguing about his right to tell his ideas, to proving that they're true. That's akin to changing a right to 'free speech' to a right to speech that's only true. Nice switch.

Are you saying then that he has a right to shove it down your throat, if it's proven true? If it's proven true to you does he have a right to preach to other people too, or only to those it's proven true to?

I think Hindu's should keep themself away from these man-made controversies of Islam , Christanity and Jaudism.

Our base is 7000 years of experienced spirituality , divine knowledge , oneness , mediation , Yoga and self realization.

+ Veda's and Holy Geeta.

Proud to be a Hindu and love all :)

There are people who would be licking their lips on the thought of blood being shed on the battle-field over God.

I entered this forum to change the un-Christlike behavior of some Christians.

WOW! I humbly accept what you say is the truth.

But I need to walk in Christ, and talk in Christ to realize the truth. I need to be humble. THat's just my opinion.

You need to live as Christ, in His church.

What in the Worlds are you talking about??? YOU were the one who said that it's the truth, and that I'll understand it if I'm bright enough. So I asked for proof. You seem so sure that you know the truth, but how do you know?

I've met my Gods and spoken with them. Tell me why I should trust some anonymous guy on an Internet forum instead of my own real-life experiences. Go on. I dare you to try.

Are you saying then that he has a right to shove it down your throat, if it's proven true? If it's proven true to you does he have a right to preach to other people too, or only to those it's proven true to?

If it's true that I really am going to hell unless I become a Christian, he can preach to me all he wants. All that is missing is proof that it's true.

Prove they are ALL man-made, or withdraw the accusation.

In other words because it's old, it's good!
Hinduism is old , Hinduism is medival , Hinduism is youngest , Hinduism is continous evolution , Hinduism is deep spirituality and Spirituality is eternal.
