They're leading us into tyranny, aided by a "tolerant" left

more trolling Machzer0?

Why are you so intolerant of the rule of law?

It's always "tyranny" when the rule of law doesn't give them everything they want.

You should hear the self-pity and doomsaying every time another state adopts gay marriage -- if you don't remember the last time, just wait; you'll hear it again in a week or so.

I could just as easily say that only idiots would force someone to act in violation of their religious beliefs.
Sure, one could say it, but that wouldn't make it true. Since when does photographing ceremony or selling a cake based on the customer's orientation have anything to do with a religious belief?

The bigots are the homosexual couple, part of what is now being referred to as the homosexual mafia

They were the ones willing to give their business to the Christians, and it was the Christians who refused.

How does that make the gays the bigots in this case?

For refusing to accept their shunning?

Photography is a form of speech, it can promote things, it can be used to condemn things.

We're not talking about serving someone a hamburger, we're talking about forcing someone to advocate a postion that they don't believe in.

They were the ones willing to give their business to the Christians, and it was the Christians who refused.

How does that make the gays the bigots in this case?

If they deliberately went to the Christian business to try to force Christians to participate in something that goes against their religious beliefs, then they are in fact the bigots, not the Christians.

For refusing to accept their shunning?

No, they could have gone to a different photographer that wouldn't have had religious objections, but instead they wanted to force the issue to punish the photographer for adhering to his/her religious beliefs.

Bigotry can go two ways DaisyDay, despite what you seem to believe.

Now now, don't try to help him dig his own hole. He's got a big enough shovel as it is.

I think the two of you are both doing a good enough job of digging your own hole. I think you both need to stop projecting your own faults onto MachZer0.

When you open a business to the public, you serve the entire public. You don't get to pick and choose based on religious beliefs. Even Scalia has said so - he's the author of the "parade of horribles" that would result if we did allow religious belief to exempt you from any and every obligation under the law.

No, we're talking about documenting an event.

Wait, what makes you think the gay couple are not Christians as well? That is a false distinction you're making, that any Christian must oppose same sex marriage, that one can be either Christian or gay but not both. Besides which, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, etc. can be just as sincerely bigoted as Christians.

It can - I haven't said it can not, despite what you seem to be asserting.

Please show what fault of mine I'm projecting onto MachZer0 or apologize for your false allegation.

When they seek to force others into compliance to their personal ideology, they're bigots

So why do you take the opposite view every Christmas, when you have supported forcing businesses (including the individual employees) to wish people a Merry Christmas rather than a Happy Holidays?

Seems you have a huge double standard here.

Or no standard at all.

Like mandated prayer in public schools? Now that's forced compliance to someone else's ideology.

But that's not what happened. They are seeking to force others to comply with their civil rights and the rule of law.

Are women being bigots when they sue for equal pay? Were blacks bigoted by insisting on service at Woolworth's lunch counter and more recently at Denny's?
