I think it's time now again for another fabulous interfaith show and tell thread. It's been quite awhile since we had one, hasn't it?

Please post pictures of art in your religious tradition. Explanations of the works and their roll in your tradition would be greatly appreciated.

Let's see if we can keep this from degrading into nastiness, shall we?

this is an interesting thread!

this is called 'ex nihilo' which means 'out of nothing' and it is from the national cathedral in the united states, which i believe is episcopal. the artist is frederick hart, and it depicts our belief that God created the universe out of nothing.

My philosophical path advocates uplifting and ennobling art as a source of emotional fuel to carry on with life. Any art that inspires, is heroic, celebrates cherished values, etc may possibly count.

One of my favorite Baha'i artists is Lesley Cottle

This was made my Robin Ewing. It follows the law of fives (but what doesn't if you try hard enough?) due to it being a pentagon comprised of 5 rings. I just like how not a single ring is interlocked with another, but the 5 of them are interconnected, plus the small pentagon in the center.

Only really discovered this painting today, and I'm still kind of working it out. Not sure what I think about it yet.

This is one of my favorite pictures from ancient Egypt.

It is the goddess Het-heret (Hathor), and king Seti.
