Relationship and works

It was put on my heart to do a task in my apartment, so I went over to grab what I needed to do the work. As I went to it there was a bottle of ice water right next to it, and within a split second I felt I wanted to take a drink first, but instead I grabbed the tool and then went for the ice water feeling like I should get to work first.

When I did that this thought came to my heart, which I believe was the Holy Spirit, and told me that being refreshed in His presence and being close to Him is first, the works come second.

When you have the right order, doing the will of GOD no longer feels like burden, but it becomes who you are, because He changes you and gives you His heart.

If I feel wore out or that doing GODs will is a chore or like taking medicine, I may be reaching for the tool to start working before taking in His presence and having a relationship with Him first.

And every day it seems I need to start over and find the right order, otherwise I will start feeling like doing works makes me "ok" with GOD instead of my relationship with Jesus Christ.

I thank GOD for helping me realize this! Glory to GOD in Jesus' name!
