Most white guys I know.

Really?

They hide it and deny it but I see it all the time in the attitude. Like the way you dismiss racism as a once in a while occourance.

No chance that's just a valid opinion?

You know that because you know everything it seems. Namely how blacks are treated in America. You seem to know better than black folks how racism affects them.

I don't consider myself an expert but ty.

Is that why they stayed and raped the gold and other natural resources because they found nothing? Empires like Kush, Carthage, Eqypt, Ethiopia, all rich in ebony, gold, myrrh and exotic animals They found a rich land and kings that had more gold than they knew what to do with. They quickly separated the native people from their riches and resources.

Yeah.

They are still there exploiting the natives and their land.

Actually the Chinese are at it but whatever.

Now the former colonizers are "businessmen.".

Well don't forget the African slavers. They're still enslaving people.

They figure they can take what they want and leave the mess for future generations to clean up (diamond mining for one with their cyanide runoff). Sort of like they burned the largest library known to man at the time in Alexandria, just so people couldn't get a high-level education there.

Lot of Alexandrias...can you be more specific?

This is the crux of it. You dismiss people's personal experience with racism to suit your worldview that everything's fine and racism is imagined.

I never said that....I think racism is very real.

White makes right=You don't see racism so there is no racism. Forget about what people say they experience, they are probably either lying or mistaken is that it? I don't know when being treated differently is?

You're a person, like everyone else, and wrong just as frequently.

You can't read minds.

@Ana the Ist If I am following you, the belief is that racism is not as bad as my experience and the people in my circle's experience indicate. Is it possible that racism is worse than your experience tells you it is? Is it possible or do you know for sure that you are right?

We'd have to talk longer about it but yes...I don't believe you have some unique ability to perceive racist intent in the minds of others.

Is it possible that racism is worse than your experience tells you it is? Is it possible or do you know for sure that you are right?

Of course it's possible. Only a fool believes they cannot be wrong.

You don't get it. It is the system this country was built on and racist white people still run this country. Japanese weren't even encamped for a generation. Blacks had 400 years of subjugation. It leaves an impression on society.

If you can't see it it's because you don't want to.
Cry me a river. I'm not buying your victimhood.

Egypt, Cesar burned it down because there were too many scholars coming out of Egypt.

Was that his rationale?

Romans rarely discarded anything they found useful. The strength of Rome isn't in their traditions but the fact that they would readily adopt practices they found useful...even if they were completely foreign.

It was suppressed! I came of age in the 60's. I learned about the space program and John Glen and all about his space orbit. But I didn't learn about the black women who helped him get there until very recently. There is a movie about them called Hidden Figures. You should watch it.This history was suppressed. Here is a clip
I'm not interested in the movie because it's only 'loosely' based on the non-fiction book but I am interested in reading Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly. Thanks, :)

I'm not buying your either. You whole what happened in the past doesn't matter applies to the people in charge. The people who have been stepped on still get stepped on. The things my dad went through I didn't have to go through but I still deal with the ideology of the people who stepped all over him. Those people are still around and are still connected. THeir children, many will follow their parent's racist ideology, many will reject it but it still goes on.

You can't see racism because it doesn't happen to you.

At the time Alexandria was the center of higher learning. It had the vastest library in the world at the time. Cesar wanted Rome to be the center from what I gather. Nobody knows the scale of all the knowledge that was lost.

If he didn't burn it himself, it still burned during his invasion so I blame him.

Talking about racism and its effect is not victimhood, and stop calling the experiences of others false. Why do you keep saying he is lying?
Living in the past and blaming the past is victimhood. Blaming white people is victimhood. Never said he was lying about his experiences. But some of his other statements about racism are false. Like this one: You can't see racism because it doesn't happen to you.

Classic victimhood statement.

Yeah, I didn't think you had a leg to stand on

Just a question......do you also blame women when they are raped or is it just blacks you blame as the victim?

At some point, the strategy became to deny the existence of any racial discrimination. If they can deny it long enough, they can later admit the racism, but then say it happened a long time ago, thus it does not apply. Pair that with the classic strategy of trying to pit Asians against Black people, it's the same old divide and conquer attitude.

However, the main reason why we're seeing these ploys to go after CRT or complain about those who wish to combat systemic racism is because they're playing on white grievance in hopes of electoral success in the midterm elections next year. This is all about riding some George Floyd backlash because, there are some who feel "wronged" by the verdict. Lack of accountability is the status quo, whether it's for the Tulsa Massacre or police brutality.

They can't see the racism because they are not on the receiving end of it. When you are singled out, you know it. Like I had a teacher who nicknamed my friend Kenyatta "Mookey" and put both of our desks facing the wall. Why was it when the girl next to me talks out of turn she gets a shhh. I talk out of turn and my desk gets moved to face the wall. I had so many racist teachers but little situations like that happen all the time and I'm supposed to believe it doesn't affect anyone? The way my dad grew up will have no affect on how I was raised?

They can't see the racism because they are not on the receiving end of it.

If you sit and tell white people that they don't experience racism, then mock and belittle any white person who dares disagree or share experiences of racism, how would you know if they do or don't?

All you're really telling them is that you don't care if they do experience racism.

I have 2 legs to stand on, thank you very much.

Are you equating rape with blacks experiencing racism? Is this the new low bar for you?

When did I mock someone for saying they experienced racism? I say it's not as likely but not that it doesn't happen
