I find it important to reflect on how God has changed your life. Its good to remember what sort of person you would be without Him. So what would you guys be like?

I would probably be one of those guys who lights houses on fire(I am a complete pyromaniac) and does drugs. Lots of them. And I would probably have lost my virginity a long ways back. I would probably be in jail right now, put behind bars because I killed someone. I am really screwed up inside(seriously) but God keeps it all cool. Instead of lighting things on fire, I light people on fire for God! What about you guys?

Oh my goodness.

If I wasn't a Christian.
I would be the fiercest mean girl out there. I would be that person that everyone feared. I would be that person who could kill with words. I would get into fights. I would curse constantly.
I would definitely not be a virgin.
I doubt I would have ever smoked, drank, or done drugs though.

I am so glad that I have God.

what's wrong with smoking?

Well, it destroys your body inside..and your body is a temple for God.

Without God, I would still be bumping aroun din the darkness of th esin of this world. Actualy without God I would probably be dead..I have had some moments that I don't think I could attribute to anyone but Him

You have a point lol, I dint smoke but it is not really because of religious reasons

haha, I don't either.

I tried once and I puked me guts out and thought it was gross.

I just get annoyed when smoking is viewed as a sin. I feel like it ostracizes smokers automatically because it's a "sin" that's sooo easy for Christians to check off their list (because most don't want to smoke anyways).

Although addiction to it is definitely a sin.

Ok, not to be too cynical, but if you really are a random sampling, then it seems that the whole human race would go to shreds without God. However, there are plenty of people that are moral and don't do drugs and stuff that either believe in a different god, or no god. It seems that God isn't the only thing keeping the world together.

Yes but every single one of those people will die one day, so has their efforts been in vain? Their "good deeds"? Yes, because everyone they help will die also.

The question you should ask yourself is not, do we need God to survive today, or this year or this life time, but rather, am I "great" enough to escape hell when I die, because if you can then you yourself are worthy of praise, but because you can't and never will be able to then you need Jesus's help.

When I wasn't a serious Christian, I heard Atheists and people like you, and I couldn't help but agree to some degree. But now all I see is an angry misguided human being who thinks he will live forever, but your days are numbered, and one day, you will die.

I pity you for not choosing God, and I really hope you change your mind before it is too late.

You'll find that Christianity has an extremely pessimistic view of mankind.

Everyone here is just being honest with themselves. We truly believe that we are wicked and fundamentally bad people at heart. And if everyone in the world was to be honest with themselves they would agree that they are not good people in any way. If not, then it is because their wickedness has deceived them. And it's not just that we do bad things, we're bad people.

Just look at kids. Leave a few kids alone for two minutes things get nasty quick. Kids can be just flat-out mean and nasty. Or just think. Is it easier to hate someone or to love them? You don't have to put any effort at all into hating someone, it's easy and natural. That's because our nature as humans is evil.

And that's the whole reason Christianity makes a big deal of the cross and the crucifixion of Jesus. On the cross he paid for all of our wickedness and allowed us to be able to stand before Him and be declared righteous even though we're so bad. And it's only by God's grace that we even understand how truly bad we are, and can be humbled enough before Him to accept the sacrifice He made.

Well, if you never will be saved, by definition, even Jesus can't help.

Really? Really?! Misguided may be subjective, but this is just a typical ad hominem attack. The only reason I may be mildly annoyed is because of your ignorant accusations. Only the stupid think they will live for eternity.

Oh, and why do you think I won't be saved again?

itisdeliciouscake, it you leave some kids alone, it may turn nasty it may not. Leave adults alone, however, even non-believers, and it most likely will not. And if Jesus saved us, what happened to people before him?

And thank you for not throwing around needless insults.

lol, "geek rage" - getting angry online doesn't mean a thing man ;)

I've observed from experience, that Atheists tend to be nasty people, or at least to some degree rather selfish, and when I said they think they will live forever, I mean that when I talk to Atheists they think they will live forever, as in they will stay young until they die. I rarely meet Atheists who haven't been given the world and every opportunity in it.

Ignorant maybe, but you've just proved that your an angry person ;)

Oh, and why do you think I won't be saved again?

Well you will be saved if you believe in Jesus and that he died for your sins and came back from the dead then you'll be saved ;)

And thank you for not throwing around needless insults.

hehe, if I think "Atheists" are "angry" and usually "misguided" due to half of them not evening know what they believe, then isn't it your duty to prove to me, that your not what I think you are? because my opinion of atheists has been gathered from a lot of encounters with them, and not from a social stereotype that i've adopted as my own opinion.

Who said anything about getting angry? I just dislike when people who lash out when their arguments are shown false.

Well, we must meet different people then. And I think you are confusing Atheists with young people.

Well you will be saved if you believe in Jesus and that he died for your sins and came back from the dead then you'll be saved
Well, then I guess I'm good to go!

See? I can quote him too!
Though I was referring to itisdeliciouscake, actually.
Even if I wasn't, at least it's wit, as opposed to plain insults. And am I to assume that we then agree that you were?

Sure, I'll show you that I'm not who you think I am. Why do you have it in your head that I am Atheist?
If these people don't know what they believe, how do you know they are Atheists?

and not from a social stereotype that i've adopted as my own opinion.
Oh, so you are stereotyping then?

I like you cRIO, so what do you believe and why? :)

and by the way I didn't lash out, I feel like doing so online is cheap, sometimes I just speak too freely and it offends. When I lash out it is usually in real life and mostly during Rugby so i'm substantially calmer than I usually am

If you must know, I believe that the Bible has too many holes to be taken literally, that God does not intervene in the world as much as you say he does, and that sarcasm is a perfectly acceptable form of ridicule.

Acceptable maybe, but I don't think you should say stuff online that your not prepared to say to my face. But if you feel perfectly fine using sarcasm to my face then go ahead ;)

I'm just curious, so why do you feel that God isn't here as much as I say?

I'm a Jesus-Freak or whatever you want to call me, I believe the Bible is the complete truth, the whole truth and the only truth.

Oh, any of this I would happily say to your face. Well, maybe not the smileys, but you get the point.

What I mean is that I don't think that he comes down and heals people just because they pray, and neither does he send people to eternal pain and suffering because they did something wrong, be it big or small. I would also not say that the Bible is the "complete truth, the whole truth and the only truth."
