But, as we live on a messed-up world, the records were released by House Republicans. This seems like an attack by MAGA on Biden. But hey, MAGA attacked the Capitol as well. An average Republican would condemn the far-right's actions of today. When will we have independent organizations running these investigations? Our US government needs an external, non-partisan auditor not influenced by money or bribes.

Also, where are the emails? No emails were released as of 12/22/2023.

In an ideal world, the title of this post would be:

Releasing records is not an attack on anyone. Transparency is key. I understand new material uncovered should not immediately be released because it must be investigated and leads must be followed. But once sufficient time has passed, with few exceptions, the conclusions of any investigative body that destroys or conceals evidence should not accepted. An exception might be a murder investigation where the police reveal evidence to the public to help find a murderer but perhaps withhold something only the murderer would know in order to gain an eventual conviction.

I would love to see the emails considering that Schwerin worked for Joe during that time period. In fact I suspect the reason we haven't seen them already is because they are innocuous and don't actually show evidence of any wrong doing.

The most recent public hearings turned into an embarrassment for them, with their own witnesses undermining the GOP's story. And thus we have followup from them like the empty accusations in the OP, the refusal to let Hunter's testimony be public and so on.

It all reeks of a them knowing their smear campaign can't survive any sort of public scrutiny. Makes one wonder why anyone would continue to fall for it. You'd think eventually people would catch on that they're being taken advantage of - and hopefully have a bit of dignity and stop being manipulated by the GOP leadership selling this stuff.

I totally agree, but everyone has bias, that is, we have lived life and have life experiences, and it is extremely hard to find a group of people who make an all out effort to put away bias. It's always worth a try, and having seen so many investigations fail because of political intervention the best thing for success is to hold the investigators accountable. Give them a time limit from the day they start to release records, including their own investigative records. That means they keep a detailed list and release everything possible with only extraordinary excepts, which they must explain, and make sure they are held accountable with specific strong penalties if they fail.
