  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What about the apparition who was supposidly Mary who said she has graces to hand out, if only people would ask her? The one with the rings on her hand and the dark ones represent graces noone has asked for?

I'm not particularly Marian in my approach to Catholicism. As such, I'm not sure which apparition you're referring to. Do you have more info (name, location etc?)

Fatima, another work of the great deceiver.

If I were satan and wanted to decieve, I would select something beautiful and revered...Mary.

Hardly. Any Saint in Heaven can interecede on our behalf. The key being intercede not answer.

quote]

Scripture me please!
Well, I suppose that if you don't believe in eternal life that it is not possible, but since the Bible talks about eternal life, one would suppose that Saints are still alive, and that you could ask them to pray for you just as you would if they were here on Earth. It is just common sense really, that is, if you truly believe in eternal life.

Associate yourself with Mary in a special way before, during, and after Communion (see Supplement of the book, "True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary" above)

Now this is really crazy, Communion is to remember the Cross, not remember Mary in some way.

I see a lot of CF members wear this on their character.
This idea that Jesus is the only human that ever lived who has any spiritual power seems a bit narrow minded to me. I think it goes hand-in-hand with the belief that God does not judge us by our actions, when the Bible clearly states that He does.

Doesn't it seem that if you are so caught up with all these apparitions and veneration of saints and Mary isn't it distancing you from Christ? isn't it hard for Christ to get to know you if your not willing to get to know him, because you are caught up with saints and Mary?

It is not common sense at all, there is not an example of spirit and human communication in the Bible without that person being there to hear each other, not even angels.

No i would not say that it is hard for Christ to get to know me, He created me and knows me better than myself.

So because one has eternal life in heaven does that give them the power to know whats in ones heart?
To hear and understand prayers?
I've always been told that what differentiates God from satan, God can read what's in your heart, satan can not.
Only when under the command of God can we withstand satan.

When people ask for saints to pray for them (which Methodists such as myself do not do by the way) it has nothing to do with locutions, as you falsely suggest. I do not follow the practice myself, but I think that anyone who thinks that it is abiblical is not thinking very clearly about either common sense or the Bible.

So right you are, it is hard for us to get to know him if we are caught up in this stuff, thank you my friend, I didn't read and think about what I typed.

 oops I meant:thumbsup:

How do you think those in Heaven communicate? Do you think that they physically speak to one another??

That is correct, God doesn't just understand what you say and think, He understands much more than that, but that is rather beside the point here since you seem to be asserting that neither satan nor anyone else can hear your thoughts.

Are you kidding? Jesus, who is God, who dwells in us by the Holy Ghost is going to say He has heard so much about us from His mother? Sounds like your talking about some regular god to me.

yeah it's like they have some mummy's boy, imo

I hope you do not wager on your ascertation of Jesus.

And yes, He was a Momma's Boy.
HE CREATED HER THE WAY HE WANTED HER.
His Mother followed Him around in some towns mentioned in scriptures, and she was His sole intimate female relationship. MOTHER AND CHILD...AN UNSHAKABLE BOND.

He also died for Her.... If it were not for her suffering with Him in a maternal way, and Him knowing that above all else, and everyone else...He had His Mother. Her love pulled Him through His Passion.
NOT to say He would not have gone through with it, but He was able to bear it..... having HER alone in the entire world...always ON His side.

NOT once did she deny Him...

Let's face it.......He created Her to be in His life, throughout His life... so He would always have ONE person who loved Him unconditionally.

NOT another human ever can claim that....... and this is also why she is above all others...HIS Queen.

And I cannot see Him sitting back and enjoying the insults on His Mother. I cannot see Him agreeing with anyone who dismisses her.

It would be better to keep quiet and ask the Lord for understanding on His relationship with Her, rather than insult Her and HIM.

The truly amazing thing about Apostolic Tradition is that it provides a foolproof means of testing spirits. Those who have decided to abandon Jesus' Tradition in this matter are leaves in the wind, with no ability to tell which spirits are of God and which are of satan, so naturally they view all spirits, whether from God or not, as satanic. That is what is truly sad, that even a spirit from God would be adamantly rejected by you.

If I a wrong, then tell me how any angelic spirit would ever be conclusively recognized as such by you? If you have no answer to this, then your opinion on the nature of any spirit is completely meaningless.

Well Mikey, if an angel comes down says this and that and it is ok, it is ok. However, if he wants me to spend 15 minutes a day in prayer with him, if when he comes people fall very hard onto their knees, if he wants me to erect a statue, if he asks me to think about him somehow during Communion, then we might have the startings of a problem.

How can you recognize ANY angel of God? You don't have a means do you? How can you be certain that you would not reject all of God's angels as fallen angels? Can you actually answer the question, rather than simply attempting to belittle me with the diminutive form of an angel's name?
