Please excuse this but I can't think of any other way to get this off my chest.
As you all know I do a lot of liturgical proofreading and also do a lot of preparation of texts for myself .
Over the last few years I have built up in DropBox a pretty large collection of 'stuff' not least of which is the Sunday Readings - arranged sort of as Pascha to Pentecost , Pentecost to the Fast , Feast day Readings etc etc - as you can see a LOT of stuff. There have also been copies of Liturgical files - such as Propers for Great and Holy Week 3 years ago - which we kept for reference. The 'we' referred to is my GodPapa and myself.
Some of this was shared in the past with the Deacon who served in our Parish , he didn't have access to some stuff but he did have access to a lot.
I was sitting doing some work on my Laptop just now and got a notification that xxxxxxxx deleted this file , then that file , and more and more . I sat mouth open watching .
Eventually the notifications stopped.
I've just checked my DropBox - yes all that and more has vanished - to say I'm not best pleased is putting it very very mildly. I've been caught out more than once in the past when Father has decided to so something a little unusual without prior warning - and I've had the stuff in DropBox . I ALWAYS have my iPad in Church with me as I have Bi-lingual copy of Liturgy on it - and since the readings were in pdf format they could be accessed offline.
I'VE LOST THE LOT THANKS TO A DEACON WHO DECIDED HE NO LONGER NEEDED SOME STUFF !!
Why didn't he think it necessary to ask me ? Why was he so discourteous enough just to go and delete the stuff ?
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
This is a sign!! It's a sign!! God is telling you to leave Eastern Catholicism behind and convert to Holy Orthodoxy now!! Go! Run! LOL
He has experience with heterodox deacons...haha, tell us what you really think, gurney.
lol I've rarely known our brother Gurney to pull punches .... but we love him anyway, and we love you too, @Anhelyna !This is a sign!! It's a sign!! God is telling you to leave Eastern Catholicism behind and convert to Holy Orthodoxy now!! Go! Run! LOL
Oh, thank goodness for that!Well - just in from Liturgy to an email in from the USA - all files have been restored for me
Considering my printer seems to have demised - at least I now have Readings accessible. Now to see how I can get the Propers done for Sunday so I can use them in Church
All's well that ends well!Well - just in from Liturgy to an email in from the USA - all files have been restored for me

He's been telling me that for ever
AND perhaps you should ask Gurney who gave him the links for the OC Readings during his foray back into Catholicism after his little fracas with a certain now ex-cleric ?![]()

Seriously though - yes I'm irritated at their removal as they were on my iPad as pdfs so I could use them that way in Church from DropBox - they did so-to-speak save my life one day when my printer had demised on the Saturday evening so I couldn't print them out so had to Chant the Epistle in English using my iPad [ our Apostol is of course in Ukrainian]
Oh well - these things happen - I do have stuff saved in a different way now - but believe me having stuff on the iPad in DropBox has been exceedingly useful at times
He has experience with heterodox deacons...
This thread just reminded me that Deacons are the worst...
love in Christ,
Dcn. Matthew
Nah! Deacons rock! Not sure if people here know, but Joseph Hazen, a poster in TAW who hasn't been around in quite a while, graduated from St. Vlad's, and is going to become our deacon, God-willing. I'm excited about it. The Divine Liturgy is so much more beautiful with a deacon!!

We recently got a deacon too, or I think maybe he's a sub-Deacon? He helps Father but doesn't do any part of the Liturgy.
But yeah, good for Fr. Deacon Joseph!Axios!
Awesome!Yep! He's very motivated, has an AMAZING singing/chanting voice, has a nice little family going so far, and is a great organizer. I'm happy for him.
