  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Questions you always wanted to ask a Christian or non believer and remarks are accepted also.

According to the Encyclopedia of Gods there are/have been more than 2,500 gods. You worship your particular god as a result of the time and culture you were born into. Change the time and culture and you'd be happily worshipping Thor.

When i read further it says encyclopedia of demons. So it appears all of these other so-called gods are nothing but demons. False gods.

Now, now Sabri. It doesn't mention demons.

Do you realise that adherents of these other 2,500+ gods would see your God as a false god?

Including the Egyptian gods, whom God pwned?

Exodus 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

Or Baal?

1 Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

Or Dagon?

1 Samuel 5:2 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.
5:3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.
5:4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

I see three instances where the Bible admits of other gods. Add in the First Commandment and the Bible pretty much makes my point about multiple gods.

Hundreds of God. No, sir. Where do you get the 100’s from?
,
For a Christian::. If you do something once a year that your not sure it is a sin. Let's say it is a specific sin but you only do it once a year not practiced. Do you think it is a sin. What if it is not a designated, maybe boarder line sin. Still not practiced. Is it a sin?
Let me try this again. We all sin. 1 at a time, we ask forgiveness and move on. It's when we stick to that sin,.practicing sin, that it counts. We are living in that sin. An example homosexuals. So there is something in my life that comes around once a year. It's not clearly designated in the word that it is a sin but i think it is. So only once a year and unsure of it's sin am i condemned if i participate?

Do atheists believe there was a Jesus?

I have no trouble accepting that there was someone called Jesus, probably a rabbi, who lived around the time of the biblical Jesus. I see the Jesus story as a mixture of truth, half-truth and myth. Something similar happened with Mohammed.

I believe there was probably a man, maybe called Jesus, or multiple figures for whom the Biblical stories of Jesus were based around. I also believe there was a lot added to the stories over time that finally resulted in what was written down describing the divine entity we read about in the NT.

Ok, so let’s say you have a former boyfriend he comes around once a year. He wants to make out with you. You know this behavior isnt right. But it maybe wrong. Or let’s say you do your taxes once a year. You fudge on your taxes. You know it’s not particularly right but you do it anyway. Yes, for the person who knows to do right and doesn’t do it to them it’s sin.

So, the man called Jesus was confirmed by the Jews even Muslims. They say he’s a prophet. Does that matter?

These were false gods -Ashtoreth and Baal. Also, if you read the Bible and take somethings out. Is it cherry picking.
