Amen. New Covenant.

New = Refreshed; Renewed

JLB

As we see in Jeremiah 31 -- Its the only covenant that provide
1. forgiveness
2. Adoption into the family of God
3. A new heart - new birth - mind and heart in harmony with God's Law

IT is the one and only "Gospel" covenant of Gal 1:6-9... and was preached to Abraham Gal 3:8

That below is what true, strict & thorough Sabbath keepers would do during biblical times

Numbers 15:32-36

New King James Version

Penalty for Violating the Sabbath

32 Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. 33 And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation. 34 They put him under guard, because it had not been explained what should be done to him.
35 Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” 36 So, as the Lord commanded Moses, all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died.

The answer is found in the book of Daniel, in conjunction with the 70 week prophecy.

Daniel 7:25-27
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Sacrifice and oblation ceased with the crucifixion of Jesus. Further evidence. The temple veil was rent top to bottom when Jesus died.

Matthew 27:50-51 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent.
The sacrificial system pointed to Jesus (the sacrificial lamb), which is why it was prophesied to cease at His crucifixion, and why it indeed happened as scripture foretold.

Regarding not going anywhere on the Sabbath, let's look at scripture.

Not doing your own pleasure.

Isaiah 58:13-14
13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
Flight during God's holy day.

Matthew 24:20-21
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
The Sabbath being a holy day, if travel is unnecessary, then it should be avoided. However, if you're doing God's work on the Sabbath, and travel is necessary, then you travel. God commanded us to keep it holy. Any thing that deviates from that should be avoided.

I stay home on most Sabbaths (church attendance aside, of course). I do sometimes spend time in nature (which is communion with God) on the Sabbath, which may require a short drive to get to my destination.

Regarding observing the Sabbath; not cooking, cleaning, etc. Yes, I try to prep meals ahead of time or ensure I have minimal prep for meals during the Sabbath. I do not clean on the Sabbath. I do not buy or sell unless it's an absolute emergency. I don't own a TV. I do use my computer and my phone, to post on Christian forums and watch sermon videos.

Again, it's a holy day. We are to keep it holy by focusing our attention completely on God, His word and His work.
Cool. Good.

Quite easily actually. We are in the new covenant now not the old covenant to which all the sacrificial laws were attached to. All the animal sacrifices, the meat and drink offerings along with the Levitical Priesthood and the laws of the earthly Sanctuary for the remission of sins are now all fulfilled in Christ to who they pointed to as Gods' sacrifice for the sins of the world once and for all *John 1:29; Hebrews 10:10. The Levitical Priesthood pointing to Jesus as our true Great High Priest who now ministers on our behalf in the presence of God for us *Hebrews 7:1-25 in the heavenly Sanctuary that the Lord pitched and not man *Hebrews 8:1-13; see also Hebrews 9:1-27 and Hebrews 10:1-22. Under the old covenant laws for remission of sins however you might want to keep in mind that the laws of remission of sins and the sin offerings as well as the laws for the Levitical Priesthood and animal sacrifices were linked to every day of the week as well as the new moons and the Feast days.

The Continual Burnt Offering (daily)
  • Numbers 28:3-8 [3], And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering. [4], The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at even [5], And a tenth part of an ephah of flour for a meat offering, mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil. [6], It is a continual burnt offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD. [7], And the drink offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drink offering. [8], And the other lamb shalt thou offer at even: as the meat offering of the morning, and as the drink offering thereof, thou shalt offer it, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
Sabbath offerings (weekly)
  • Numbers 28:9-10 [9], And on the sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof: [10], This is the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

New Moon offerings (Monthly animal sacrifice)
  • Numbers 28:11-13 [11], And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot; [12], And three tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one bullock; and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one ram; [13], And a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a meat offering unto one lamb; for a burnt offering of a sweet savoir, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD. [14], And their drink offerings shall be half an hin of wine unto a bullock, and the third part of an hin unto a ram, and a fourth part of an hin unto a lamb: this is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year. [15], And one kid of the goats for a sin offering unto the LORD shall be offered, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.
Passover/Unleavened Bread (Passover animal sacrifices)
  • Numbers 28:11-24 [11], And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot; [12], And three tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one bullock; and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one ram; [13], And a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a meat offering unto one lamb; for a burnt offering of a sweet savoir, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD. [16], And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the passover of the LORD. [17], And in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten. [18], In the first day shall be an holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work therein: [19], But ye shall offer a sacrifice made by fire for a burnt offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, and seven lambs of the first year: they shall be unto you without blemish: [20], And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil: three tenth deals shall ye offer for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram; [21], A several tenth deal shalt thou offer for every lamb, throughout the seven lambs: [22], And one goat for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you. [23], Ye shall offer these beside the burnt offering in the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering. [24], After this manner ye shall offer daily, throughout the seven days, the meat of the sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savoir unto the LORD: it shall be offered beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.[25], And on the seventh day ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work.
Day of First Fruits (animal sacrifices)
  • Numbers 28:26-31 [26], Also in the day of the firstfruits, when ye bring a new meat offering unto the LORD, after your weeks be out, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: [27], But ye shall offer the burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the LORD; two young bullocks, one ram, seven lambs of the first year; [28], And their meat offering of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto one bullock, two tenth deals unto one ram, [29], A several tenth deal unto one lamb, throughout the seven lambs; [30], And one kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you. [31], Ye shall offer them beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, (they shall be unto you without blemish) and their drink offerings.
Feast of Trumpet (Prior to the Day of Atonement; animal sacrifices and High Priest)
  • Numbers 29:1-6 [1], And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you. [2], And ye shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savoir unto the LORD; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish: [3], And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram, [4], And one tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs: [5], And one kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you: [6], Beside the burnt offering of the month, and his meat offering, and the daily burnt offering, and his meat offering, and their drink offerings, according unto their manner, for a sweet savoir, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD.
Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur; animal sacrifices and High Priest)
  • Leviticus 16:5-10, 20-22 [5] From the Israelite community he is to take two male goats for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. [6] “Aaron is to offer the bull for his own sin offering to make atonement for himself and his household. [7] Then he is to take the two goats and present them before the Lord at the entrance to the tent of meeting. [8] He is to cast lots for the two goats—one lot for the Lord and the other for the scapegoat. 9 Aaron shall bring the goat whose lot falls to the Lord and sacrifice it for a sin offering. [10] But the goat chosen by lot as the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord to be used for making atonement by sending it into the wilderness as a scapegoat ....[20] “When Aaron has finished making atonement for the Most Holy Place, the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall bring forward the live goat. [21] He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites—all their sins—and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task. [22] The goat will carry on itself all their sins to a remote place; and the man shall release it in the wilderness.
  • Numbers 29:7-11 [7], And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein:[8], But ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD for a sweet savour; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year; they shall be unto you without blemish: [9], And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals to a bullock, and two tenth deals to one ram, [10], A several tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs: [11], One kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the sin offering of atonement, and the continual burnt offering, and the meat offering of it, and their drink offerings.
Feast of Tabernacles (Feast of booths; animal sacrifice)
  • Numbers 29:12-40 [12], And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days:[13], And ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD; thirteen young bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year; they shall be without blemish: [14], And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals unto every bullock of the thirteen bullocks, two tenth deals to each ram of the two rams, [15], And a several tenth deal to each lamb of the fourteen lambs: [16], And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering. [17], And on the second day ye shall offer twelve young bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without spot: [18], And their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner: [19], And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and the meat offering thereof, and their drink offerings. [20], And on the third day eleven bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish; [21], And their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner: [22], And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, and his drink offering. [23], And on the fourth day ten bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish: [24], Their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner: [25], And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering. [26], And on the fifth day nine bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:[27], And their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner: [28], And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, and his drink offering. [29], And on the sixth day eight bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish: [30], And their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner: [31], And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering. [32], And on the seventh day seven bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish: [33], And their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner: [34], And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering. [35], On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye shall do no servile work therein:[36], But ye shall offer a burnt offering, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savoir unto the LORD: one bullock, one ram, seven lambs of the first year without blemish: [37], Their meat offering and their drink offerings for the bullock, for the ram, and for the lambs, shall be according to their number, after the manner: [38], And one goat for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and his meat offering, and his drink offering. [39], These things ye shall do unto the LORD in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings. [40], And Moses told the children of Israel according to all that the LORD commanded Moses.
..............

As shown above from the scriptures, the old covenant Mosiac laws for remission of sins and animal sacrifice were a very important part of not only the daily but the weekly (Sabbath), the new moons, and the annual Feast days. These practices of course being "shadows of things to come" *Colossians 2:17 and the body being of Christ. Therefore under the new covenant these laws of remission of sins have no application in the new covenant to anyone of Gods' 10 commandments. Therefore they are not practiced in the new covenant because they were shadows pointing to the coming of Jesus as Gods' sacrifice for the sins of the world and Jesus as our great High Priest in the heavenly Sanctuary that the Lord pitched and not man based on better promises in the new covenant.

Exodus 16:29 does not tell us we cannot go out on the Sabbath. The context here is to go out collecting manna on the Sabbath and a double portion should be collected the day before called the "preparation day" according to the scriptures (e.g. see the context of Exodus 16:29 in Exodus 16:15-29 see also Mark 15:42).

Yes and no. We have a preparation day before the Sabbath to prepare all of our food and cooking. This is based off the scriptures and Exodus 16:4-5; Exodus 16:15-28. We also do not do any domestic duties or buying or selling as this is also work and not to be done on the Sabbath according to the commandment *Exodus 20:8-11. There is no scripture in regards to watching appropriate Sabbath based TV or using a phone on the Sabbath that would be a man-made teaching. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath *Matthew 12:12 and you should consider the Words of Jesus here that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. Gods' Sabbath is a gift for all mankind and a holy day of rest that God made for us to spend with him.

...................

You may want to consider that there is not a single scripture in all of God's Word that says Gods 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest. Sunday worship is a man-made teaching and tradition that has led many away from God and His Word to break the commandments of God. Jesus says in Matthew 15:3-9 that is we knowingly follow man-made teachings and traditions that break the commandments of God we are not worshiping God. This begs the question who are we following God or man? God knows however that many do this out of ignorance and in times of ignorance God winks at and does not hold us accountable for sin (Acts of the Apostles 17:30-31; James 4:17) but when He gives us a knowledge of the truth of His Word he calls us to believe and follow what His Word says. According to the scriptures, at this time if we choose to harden our heart in sin and unbelief in order to continue in known unrepentant sin there remains no more sacrifice for sin but a fearful looking forward to of the judgement to come which shall devour the adversaries. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God *see Hebrews 10:26-31.

May God bless you as you seek Him through His Word.
Long exegesis and good, helpful...

The sabbath keepers of today seem to pick & choose what they should follow.

If we choose to burden ourselves with these sabbath practices, then we better make sure, we will be able to follow each & everything as it is in the bible.

True Israelites can be found in Countries like Israel & the like. We can start from there, if we're wanting to find what they really look like in the flesh.

I can assure you though that, even the descendants of Jacob in the flesh will be in for a huge surprise in times to come.

Laws related to penal codes under a legitimate Theocracy such as was in place under Moses - are not always applicable outside of a theocracy. Laws against Sabbath breaking are a good example of laws not applicable outside of a legitimate theocracy.

The same is true for several of the TEN commandments such as "do not take God's name in vain". Not being subject to the death penalty outside of a legitimate theocracy

Yet in any country,
where there is a faithful assembly of Jesus' disciples,
if any one of them continues after warnings to sin and does not repent,
what is the action to take according to Yahweh's Instructions ?

The sabbath keepers of today seem to pick & choose what they should follow.
The ones you either have seen, or know, or read about ?
Have you looked for, sought for, prayed for Yahweh to bring to you
the 'sabbath keepers' who are faithful followers abiding in Yahshua (Jesus) ?

No statements in the Bible require other nations to have the death penalty for Sabbath breaking or for taking God's name in vain.

By contrast - in Lev 18 you see an interesting list of sins/crimes for which God says He will hold ANY and ALL nations accountable for even if they have no Bible at all. It is interesting that Sabbath breaking , and Taking God's name in vain are not in that list. Just as coveting is not in the list of sins that will get a civil penalty applied in the land of Israel in the OT under a legitimate Theocracy.

It does not mean it is not a sin - just that civil penalties would not apply.

Well it is true that some are very focus on a Biblical walk in Christ for the Christian faith and we test all doctrine and practice "sola scriptura".
It is also true that others object to such practices.

But as for the "pick and choose" -- false accusation - maybe your accusation would be helped if you actually gave some evidence, some detail, some explanation for it.

yep -- that is how things worked under a legitimate theocracy. Yet the TEN are still included in the moral law of God as even these Sunday sources admit

Israelites, will not enter heaven because of their bloodline, that's for sure.

Any Israelite longing to see heaven must follow rules & join the queue. There aren't going to be special privileges for them because they are descendants of Jacob, unfortunately.

We accept Jesus as our Lord & personal saviour and live according to God's word in this new dispensation of grace, if we are to see heaven.

Even Mary the Mother of Jesus, is not exempt. If she ended up dying without receiving her own biological son Jesus as her Lord & personal saviour, she will not see heaven either, but if she believed in her son Jesus, she will make it to heaven. PERIOD!!!!!!

Israelites, will not enter heaven because of their bloodline, that's for sure.
Amen , as Romans 2 points out clearly.

true.
As we see in Jeremiah 31 -- Its the only covenant that provide
1. forgiveness
2. Adoption into the family of God
3. A new heart - new birth - mind and heart in harmony with God's Law

IT is the one and only "Gospel" covenant of Gal 1:6-9... and was preached to Abraham Gal 3:8

The New Covenant - for Israel and the house of Judah Heb 8:

7. “Behold, days are coming, says the Lord,
When I will bring about a new covenant
With the house of Israel and the house of Judah,
9 Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers
On the day I took them by the hand
To bring them out of the land of Egypt;
For they did not continue in My covenant,
And I did not care about them, says the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel
After those days, declares the Lord:
I will put My laws into their minds,
And write them on their hearts.
And I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.
11 And they will not teach, each one his fellow citizen,
And each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
For they will all know Me,
From the least to the greatest of them.
12 For I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings,
And their sins I will no longer remember.

As Romans 2 reminds us ;
25 For indeed circumcision is of value if you practice the Law; but if you are a violator of the Law, your circumcision has turned into uncircumcision. 26 So if the uncircumcised man keeps the requirements of the Law, will his uncircumcision not be regarded as circumcision? 27 And he who is physically uncircumcised, if he keeps the Law, will he not judge you who though having the letter of the Law and circumcision are a violator of the Law? 28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. 29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from people, but from God.

I still cannot work out why we pray to Mary though. The woman passed on a lvery ong time ago and she is in the queue waiting just like all the others who have passed on.....

Everyone is going to stand before the Great Judge some day. Each & every man shall stand & present that which they have.

Now, if we fed ourselves with the wrong word, tough! It will then mean, Christ shall not be able to stand on our behalf. We shall have to explain how & why we believed in twisted doctrines.

I wonder what strategy we will use to escape God's wrath on that day.....

True there brother.

Circumcision, should be spiritual in this dispensation Anyone looking to get physically circumcised, should do this purely for other reasons e.g hygienic purposes & medical reasons etc. But never deceive yourself into thinking that you're following biblical rituals & practices of the law.

In fact there is no OT or NT command for gentiles to be circumcised in order to be saved.

As you point out - there are good health benefits for it - but it is not a step of salvation.
