No, they actually lived, and are part of a creation debate. It is Granny Bacteria there is no documentation for. Cain is in the records.ImmortalTechnique said:they are not people who actually lived... they are an allegorical story to help explain murder, war, etc.
Oncedeceived said:Scripture actually says there were other "people". Adam and Eve I think are the first people made in the image of God (unlike other earlier forms of humans perhaps).
The 'other' is only your assumption, if you mean it as not children of Adam and Eve. There were 'other' people than Cain, yes, of course, children of Eve, or her daughters! They were just people. Not all babies were mentioned, maybe Eve had a mess of em before leaving the garden! Why not?Oncedeceived said:Scripture actually says there were other "people". http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Gen&chapter=4&verse=15&version=kjvGen 4:15And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. Gen 4:16And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. Gen 4:17And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
Gen 4:18And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech. Gen 4:19And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one [was] Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
Cain took to wife to a land called Nod, yes, and built up from there. No big deal.

They all came from Adam and Eve. Lets say, for example they were in the garden 94 years before they got the boot. Lets say Eve had 8 daughters, 4 of which also had babies, one of them had twins even. There were, therefore 13 women, and say 3 pregnant when they got the boot. Plus Adam and Eve. How long was it till Cain slew Abel? I don't think we know. There may have been lots of people by that time, and Cain, of course would have a wife.TheGMan said:Clearly the Bible implies that there are other people. It just kind of neglects to mention where they came from. Which day were these others made on?

No, there is not, of course! Glad you know this. That is belief based.pantsman52 said:Oh ya, theres no evidence for "Granny Bacteria",
If you call the temporarily seperated spiritual part of the complete created universe 'alternate' then there is lots of evidence for it. Men know of a spiritual reality. The bible tells us of a very different world as well. Unlike Granny, which is pure fiction!but theres evidence for your alternate Universe where flood water gets blown to Mars and the Earths core is a diamond.
Why would it mention if it was his 'sister', or niece, or whatever, when that was not significant sexually then? She was a girl, thats about all that mattered!TheGMan said:But why does the Bible mention Cain's wife but neglect to mention that she was also his sister. The writer was perfectly happy to mention that Tubal-Cain had a sister and even to say what her name was - Naamah. It seems a very odd omission.
No, that stayed the same since our PO universe light came to be. We could tell if it changed speeds.funyun said:Of course not now. Everything changes over time, including the speed of light.
The record I read that had Cain in it was the bible. That is the record, the document, the history of the universe we have.funyun said:You wanna show us those records? Or are they still under lock-up per The Big Man's orders?

If what you say is true, that would mean there could be hundreds of thousands of people in the world, maybe a lot more even.funyun said:I think it's safe to assume the two of them were about middle-aged... probably about 400 going on 500.
