Hi All,
I think I just need to talk.
I have had some issues in the past 4 weeks where I have not been able to get out of bed hardly at all, I am so out of breath I feel like I'm going to collapse, cannot go to work, I had one really bad chest pain episode, frequent migraines, palpitations like crazy and nausea. We already know I have an enlarged liver. I'm 40 years old and I smoke cigs. I've been to the doctor 3 times so far. All she kept saying was I must be depressed. Yes, I've had a ton of things going on recently, but I would not buy the depression theory. I have never been able to take anti-depressants - they make me insane literally so I tried to explain to my doctor that, but she just had it in her head I had to be depressed. I just knew it had to be something physical. She kept giving them darn pills to me to try. Finally, yesterday I went again- in tears (didn't look too good since I wasn't supposed to be depressed after all )to see her and begged her to please please listen to me and do a chest xray or something..please check for something physical. She snapped at me and said fine, she'd do a chest xray, EKG and blood work and when it came back normal I'd need to see a pychiatrist. I agreed. After she got the xray and ekg back she changed her tone. She said, "It looks like you have lung disease and your bones are extremely thin (60yr old) and your EKG doesn't look good, you need to see a cardiologist right away, and Oh I can see why you are having a hard time breathing"
WOW What does it take to get diagnosed correctly??
I'm terrified, but at the same time happy she found out something.
I'm wondering, does anyone know what the cardiologist will do? And lung disease?? What do they do to find out exactly what that's about??
I Just someone talk to, after all that, I may end up depressed!
Thanks for reading.
