Sexual attraction is not a bad thing in and of itself. What is bad is what we do with it. Jesus is basically telling us that we need to control ourselves by keeping this attraction within the context of marriage. It is no different from striving to bring every other thought and desire to the obedience of our Lord. We need to guard our hearts by prayer and studying the Word. If you find that you are attracted to a lady that has zero potential to be your future wife, then it would be covetous to imagine it otherwise. "Guard your hearts" my mother-in-law to be would tell us. She was right. My wife and I were very attracted to each other, and were cognizant of the dangers associated with that attraction. Even though we desired each other, our greater desire was to honor God. The application of that desire will be different for couples, but for us, it was hands off completely. God gave us the strength we sought, and in spite of a courtship which lasted 3 years, our first kiss was on the day of our wedding.

Most men have difficulty keeping their eyes to themselves. A godly man strives to be careful to not offend God, and keeps his feet as far from the harlot's house as possible to avoid her entrapment. I knew a Pastor that, before he would read a magazine, would give it to his wife to remove any immodest advertisement. Men and women need to guard their hearts against sexual immorality. Modest behavior and dress is a major part of fighting the allure of our pornographic society.
