Faith is sitting when you have no idea if there is a stool, you just hope there is one, while with science and engineering you can actually built a stool...
Did you mean "build"? :unamused:
You completely missed my point, which for obvious reasons, I can understand.

Keep this in mind though:

Amateurs built the Ark; professionals built the Titanic.

Difference is, we know for sure that the Titanic was actually built,....the infamous Ark? that I'm not too sure ;)

Apparently that was a mix up at Costco back in 13
Go figure!

Wouldn't it be nice if academia realized its assessment of the Bible was a "mix up" as well?

All flat-earthers are Christians, but not all Christians are flat-earthers?
LOL

Where did that come from!?

Question: Does academia say that the Bible speaks of a flat earth, as well as heliocentrism?

I don't think "academia" cares what the bible "speaks of."

What conditions were they testing?
The predictions of the story are easily tested.
1. Evidently according to science, the most accurate information to use comes from what is called the Epic of Gilgamesh, not the Bible.
Irrelevant. No matter what incarnation of the story you use, the basic testable predictions are the same. It predicts a universal genetic bottleneck as well as a global geological layer of flood deposits. Neither of both exists.
2. Evidently according to science, the Flood occurred during the time of the Sumerians, Egypt's 6th dynasty, and China's first.
Irrelevant as well. After all, the story could be wrong about the data and correct about the event.
The problem is that the evidence shows that they event never happened. Not last century, not during the 6th dynasty, not ever.
If it happened, at any time, there should be a universal genetic bottleneck. But there is no such bottleneck. Therefor, it never happened. It really is that easy.

Either that, or God cleaned up the mess Himself.

As I said... if you are going to make such unfounded assumptions, you might as well start arguing for Last Thursdayism.

If these are the standards you are going to employ to justify belief, then you'll believe just about anything anyone's imagination can produce.

That's fine off course... Believe whatever you wish.
In such case though, obviously you don't care about rational justification for your beliefs.

As for me, I'll shelve you in the tin-foil-hat category.

And a lack of faith is similar to lacking the appropriate number of legs on a stool you try to sit on.

You can say this. It is a valid english sentence. They are words that are grammatically correctly strung together.

But it means nothing.

You end up butt-hurt in the end when science cannot save you. :expressionless:

That assumes that I require any "saving".
