This post was originally in the Teen Commons area, but I felt maybe you guys in here could get a bit of interest out of it.

First of all, Yes, I am a atheist. I am a firm believer in evolution (Yes, I have read both the bible and the orgin of the species. I have a educated opinion), and I do not believe in God. I am here to ask you all why, as your bible preaches both tolerance and loving, People threaten to kill, torture and lynch me for no other reason that not agreeing with you.

You must mean "The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or
The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life." One has to ask "favoured" by what or whom?
Evolution is still a theory and one that cannot be proven. At the end of the day it boils down to faith in God's word or man's word.

One thing is certain, the theory of evolution will never be able to explain your emotions and your need for purpose in life and even your desire for things such as acceptance, to be loved and wanting to succeed.

I am 14. I drink (Legal drinking age in Denmark is virtually nonexistant), I party, I do things that will probably send me straight to hell.
I also get top grades, have lots of friends, help my local community and my family. Am I a bad person? I'm a nihilistic atheist, meaning that I believe that humans just are. We have no real purpose other than to duplicate and keep the race alive, therefore, we might as well get the best of it.
Now, I ask you. What's your opinion? do you agree/disagree with me?
also, keep the discussion civil, please.

The theory of evolution and the doctrine that comes with it has led to a substantial portion of the world becoming addicted to alcohol and drugs, depressed and suicidal, lonely and feeling rejected. There's a great big hole in the lives in many people and only God can fill it.

You are still young and will certainly experience the same as most others that have chosen to believe that we have evolved out of nothing. Hopefully when you get there you will look up like many of us have.

I would also add to this mix that it's not we who "knock on G-d's door," but rather it is He who knocks on our's. And if the OP weren't experiencing that, this thread wouldn't exist.
Quite right, I think Aaron might have some un-answered questions or incorrect presumptions about God. We can only learn the truth about God from accepting the Bible. When I learned that everything I thought about God was wrong because I hadn't heard from God Himself, that is when I gave my life to follow Him because He revealed His true self to me.

Here's that verse:
Ask, Seek, Knock
7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
It shows that when anyone is truly ready to seek God, the door will be opened. Being ready is such a personal matter, we each have our own set of hurdles, but to Aaron: seeking God requires that you humble yourself to Him and acknowledge He is the great creator who knows everything about you that you don't, and everything about anything you might want to know, and when you honor the Lord with that respect He will reveal Himself to you.
