Then why are you comparing someone using his vocal chords, to someone not using his vocal chords?
If the guy in that statement states there is no God, what's the difference, should he not state it, but doesn't believe it?There is a difference between stating that there is no God and simply not believing in a God.
Christian means "Christ-like." I don't remember ever reading in the bible that Jesus was rude and insulting.
Matthew21:12 said:12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.
You're just being pedantic and playing semantics. Then why are you comparing someone using his vocal chords, to someone not using his vocal chords?
Remember saying this?
If the guy in that statement states there is no God, what's the difference, should he not state it, but doesn't believe it?
In other words, if he doesn't state it, but finds himself in a situation where he wants to, are you saying he will state otherwise?
So the 2nd person in this equation is one step behind the 1st person, right? There is a difference between someone who believes that there is no God and someone else who simply does not believe in God but does not go so far to claim there is no God as the former does.
Yeah they will, probably. So the 2nd person in this equation is one step behind the 1st person, right?
If asked: YES or NO, does God exist? will the 1st person answer NO, and the 2nd person answer I DON'T KNOW?
And yet they're both atheists?Yeah they will, probably.
Would what? answer NO or I DON'T KNOW?I would.
No that doesn't preclude them from being atheist.
So a person can be both an atheist and an agnostic? It does mean they are also likely to be agnostic as well.
Which one of us are you talking to? I have clear-cut, well-defined distinctions among the three.lol
The distinction between atheism, agnosticism, and theism is not a difficult distinction to make. Surely if you have trouble with this distinction maybe you should go away and have a look at it before debating more difficult concepts...
Well, for the record, Satan is neither an atheist, nor an agnostic; so guess which one that leaves?Just a passing thought: believing in Satan must make films like The Exorcist and The Omen very compelling viewing. I tend to find that genre a bit cartoonish and silly because I don't believe in the basic premise, but if you're truly convinced that Satan is lurking behind every corner waiting to do unspeakable things to you, they must scare your socks off. It explains why so many American horror movies have the devil or demons in them; it's not surreal fantasy to them, it's diabolical reality. Crikey!
Yes they are. One is a strong atheist, the other an agnostic atheist. And yet they're both atheists?
I would answer I don't know. I may not believe in God but I do not say or believe that a God does not exist.Would what? answer NO or I DON'T KNOW?
Yes. I just explained that and I am sure I've explained that to you before. I am myself both an atheist and an agnostic. So a person can be both an atheist and an agnostic?
[none of my business] What do you think of Mr. Pedantic? [/none of my business]You're just being pedantic...
Imaginary?Well, for the record, Satan is neither an atheist, nor an agnostic; so guess which one that leaves?
Nobody in general. It was just a suggestion. But since you asked:Which one of us are you talking to? I have clear-cut, well-defined distinctions among the three.
Fair enough -- I have no comment here worth putting into words.Yes they are. One is a strong atheist, the other an agnostic atheist.
I would answer I don't know. I may not believe in God but I do not say or believe that a God does not exist.
Yes. I just explained that and I am sure I've explained that to you before. I am myself both an atheist and an agnostic.
You'll be surprised to learn that you can also be an agnostic theist.
I don't consider myself a sinner. Don't believe in the notion of sin as it is a purely religious concept or if true, a taint I have no control over and no recognition or scapegoating of that will relinquish my weakness from it. I wouldn't additionally worship or esteem reverence onto a being that would allow me to come to harm for not. That is fascism and totalitarianism rolled together and your attempt at preaching is poor religious hucksterism.Lillen said:Do you accept the christian notion that you are a sinner? If so, do you wish to be released from the slavery of sin?
I believe that you will be confronted with your creator before you die and i pray to God that you will chose a life with Him instead of a life in sin! One day you will have the revelation that you are a sinner, and actually know that God is true... That day, chose Jesus! you are allowed to chose Jesus!! You are allowed to believe in the gospel!! Remember that!
