CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Then why are you comparing someone using his vocal chords, to someone not using his vocal chords?

If the guy in that statement states there is no God, what's the difference, should he not state it, but doesn't believe it?
In other words, if he doesn't state it, but finds himself in a situation where he wants to, are you saying he will state otherwise?

You're just being pedantic and playing semantics.
The person also doesn't believe that there is no God. I don't believe in God but I don't claim that there is no God and nor do I believe it. So because this is apparently hard for you in its previous wording, I'll change and update it:
There is a difference between someone who believes that there is no God and someone else who simply does not believe in God but does not go so far to claim there is no God as the former does.

Just a passing thought: believing in Satan must make films like The Exorcist and The Omen very compelling viewing. I tend to find that genre a bit cartoonish and silly because I don't believe in the basic premise, but if you're truly convinced that Satan is lurking behind every corner waiting to do unspeakable things to you, they must scare your socks off. It explains why so many American horror movies have the devil or demons in them; it's not surreal fantasy to them, it's diabolical reality. Crikey!

Yes. I just explained that and I am sure I've explained that to you before. I am myself both an atheist and an agnostic.
You'll be surprised to learn that you can also be an agnostic theist.

Nobody in general. It was just a suggestion. But since you asked:
Agnosticism (from Latin "ab" + "gnoscere", 'to know') is a belief that the existence of a deity is unknowable.
Theism (from Greek "theos", "a god or deity") is a belief in god(s).
Atheism (from above) is an absence of belief in god. It is not a belief in the non-existence of god. Yes, there is a difference. Some atheists take their belief further, so they have a negative belief in god, but this is a subset of the broader definition.
Note that agnosticism and atheism are not mutually exclusive. If you believe that the presence of a deity is unknowable, and that there is no current evidence to validate the need or presence of a god (as I basically do) then you are both atheist and agnostic.

Anyway, pertaining to the original post:
I don't consider myself a sinner. Don't believe in the notion of sin as it is a purely religious concept or if true, a taint I have no control over and no recognition or scapegoating of that will relinquish my weakness from it. I wouldn't additionally worship or esteem reverence onto a being that would allow me to come to harm for not.
