  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why does burning fat produce more metabolic water than burning carbs or protein, from an evolutionary point of view?
Fats are around twice as energy-dense as carbs & protein, and roughly speaking, the same amount of water is produced for each molecule of ATP (usable energy) generated. That energy density is why fats are the preferred long-term energy store.

So the amount of water produced is just a result of ATP generation, there's no particular evolutionary point that makes fats produce more.

Probably because it isn’t much water in humans. Now if we were camels you’d have a point . Camel humps are very fatty

Isn't metabolic water 8-10 % in humans. That's substantial.

Another topic but shouldn't the poor be eating more fat as it's really a cheap source of energy (as well as hydration). This would help solve the hunger problem.

Starch and sugar has always been known as the poor man's diet. No wonder most processed foods are made up of such.
