You claimed the Catholic Church originally subscribed to Monergism. That was false.
As we all know, at one point St. Augustine believed and taught monergism, which was widely accepted at that time. This aspect of his theology survived within the Augustinian order of the Catholic Church. Had it not existed or survived, it is exceedingly unlikely that Martin Luther would have embraced it. Unlike other Protestant reformers, Luther's theology was not particularly original or unusual.
Please note that I did not state that the Catholic Church embraced St. Augustine's monergism. In fact, there was no Catholic church in his day, nor even Eastern Orthodox churches, for that matter. Those denominations developed much later.
