false memory is the worst explanation

since you are trying to discount everyone's experience

like saying they are fools basically
No, I think the 'Mandela effect' explanation you gave is mistaken and is not a good explanation. I'm suggesting that we do a comparison with the faulty memory explanation using agreed objective criteria for what makes a good explanation.

If you want to suggest your own criteria for a good explanation, you're welcome to suggest some.

I don't have an explanation

I only know it's not false memory
You said the explanation was changing timelines - it's recorded in the thread posts. If you want to claim you didn't say that, you won't have the excuse that it must have happened in a different timeline...

If you don't think changing timelines is a good explanation after all, that's progress. But if you can't suggest a better explanation than faulty memory, then that makes faulty memory the best available explanation. Simples.

that explanation ignores all evidence to the contrary

otherwise it would be logical

only it's the farthest thing from logical at this point

Isn't all of the evidence people remembering things differently than the objective documentation of events (or names, or what ever)?

Sounds like "bad memories" would fit that evidence **VERY** well. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

you're not considering anything

I didn't say anything about "considering".

Your self imposed 30-character limit make your posts almost incomprehensible. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

why do you believe you know it's a misquote
Because it was actually Disney who got it wrong in the 1937 Snow White. The original Grimm's fairytales story, on which Snow White was based, had, "Spieglein, Spieglein, an der Wand...". So that's what the parents who'd grown up with the stories (in translation) knew it as, and the rest, as they say, is history.

  • you think everyone has bad memories
  • in the same exact way
  • about the same exact things

1. Those aren't bullet points. Learn how to use them.

2. Of course everyone makes memory errors. Everyone on this thread has admitted to some. I've admitted to some of the common "mandela" ones as have you.

3. They wouldn't be the same errors if they weren't about the same things.

4. Many of these errors are very common errors in speech, spelling, hearing, or wording. The kind of errors that are so easy to make they can be made independently and then get repeated.

Star Wars is just a movie

And I've never actually seen it.

By the time I "saw it" it had already been modified with the insertion of the "Episode IV: A new hope" title card in the opening scroll. (It was also narrowed for VHS.) Though Han did shoot first with Han's blaster.

The line I've quoted a few times isn't from that movie, it's from the sequel.

I'm sure you misremember

everything you said must be wrong

because that is your logic

Not really; there is no evidence to the contrary, only ill-informed speculative fantasising. There is plenty of peer-reviewed evidence of just the kind of memory 'glitches' that give rise to the 'Mandela effect' (and many more). If I remember correctly, I posted links to a list of articles about the fallibility of memory on this very forum in this very timeline...
