A straw man argument is a distortion of an argument that makes it easier to attack. You have only made assertions, without supporting arguments, and I have responded with an evidence-based argument of my own.

So no, not a straw man argument.

Saying I have not supported my argument is a straw man.

I supported my argument with videos…

In fact, the videos make a good case.

You claim your memory is reliable. Videos of other people making their own claims are not an argument for that.

Ironically the only evidence of the reliability of your memory you provide is your own anecdotal evidence that it is not a reliable guide to the past!

To say my memory is flawed… is a straw man.

No, it's simply a statement of fact - all human memory is flawed. Some things we remember better than others, but personal experience and autobiographical memory is generally unreliable - because memories are labile, not static; the way they are stored is fragmentary and associative, and the way they are retrieved is associative and reconstructive.

You've been provided with plenty of articles and papers describing this.

Speak for yourself. I will accept.

If you claim my memory is flawed, this is flawed logic.

I say my memory is reliable.
It's a simple syllogism:

P1: Human memory is demonstrably unreliable.
P2: You are human.
C: Your memory is unreliable.

Premise 1 is supported by all the available evidence on the mechanisms of human memory, and its empirical reliability ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I suspect that we all wish human memory was more reliable - but wishing doesn't make it so.

Can you remember precisely what you had for dinner and at what time exactly 4 years ago today?

An android could answer. Not I…

Nor am I brain-damaged.

The truth is somewhere in the middle…
