Purpose of the Church

This is partly true, and partly in line with Scripture,
but is not always true, as all things must be tested, even "churches"....

Local church is safe place , a base to resupply and train the attackers who are destroying Satan's kingdom by preaching the gospel .
You plant a base and destroy it from the inside .

To introduce us to God and help establish and maintain our relationship with Him.

I agree. I want to do well in personal witnessing as well as being of use within the church walls.

To provide God's truth, thereby enabling human beings to receive salvation. This is why Jesus Christ founded one Church and said it was to remain one. As soon as there are two churches teaching conflicting beliefs, at least one of them has to be teaching untruth, since truth cannot conflict with truth. When we have 6,000 conflicting denominations and 20,000 so-called "nondenominational" manmade churches, untruth is so widespread that no-one can realistically expect to hear truth from such a church. Thank God, the one Church Jesus Christ founded, to which He promised "The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth" is still among us, leading people to salvation.

The church, in respect of it being the cumulative believers in Christ as their Lord and Savior... is the collective physical hands and feet of Christ, here on earth.
The church carries out the work of God on earth and His will until He returns.

I guess one really can't argue with this.

Mainly, it's to get our spirit in line with God which is a straight line perpendicular to where one stands as represented by the long bar of the cross. It shows that we are going in the right direction. Otherwise, one can "think" they are going in the perpendicular direction, but a minute degree off and they can be far off the path in a short amount of time.

For me, it gets me out of the house early Sunday and gives me chance to learn about the Bible, worship God and help do the church's works. Maybe that's what help align us in the right direction .

Without looking at the other responses I would say to administer the sacraments and to primarily administer the Holy Eucharist.

The church is not there to be friends, to entertain, to whatever evangelicals think the church should be. The church is there to disperse the sacraments to the faithful. Can people become friends at church, of course but in my opinion the church is not there for such things.
