knownbeforetime deep down you carry a shread of doubt. search deep and trust God completly and all his promises and gifts will be seen clearly not only in yourself but all others. God Loves you so much and would never allow anyone to fool you. remove the hidden doubt and once you have, listen close to the Holy Spirit you will hear him in your heart and Truth will be seen clear and Faith will grow. God has alot for you to do but you must break that chain of doubt and once done hang on because Gods taken you places you never dreamed of. Peace and Love !! Rod

Practice the prophetic gift? You've got to be kidding.

What is "kidding" about it?

Since the prophetic is the gift that Apostle Paul exhorts us to earnestly desire, I think it is great to practice it here, because probably 90% of the body of Christ are to shy or intimidated to boldly prophesy what God gives them in our spirit filled meetings.

Through this thread, we can practice praying for people who would like a word, and if God shows us something, we should share it.

But remember, if it is God, it will always be buliding up,encouraging and comforting

1 Corinthians 14: 3-4 tells us "But someone prophesying is speaking to people, edifying, encouraging and comforting them.

I Corinthians 12:28“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”

I have left this thead alone because prophesy is not only for EDIFICATION BUT FOR CORRECTION ALSO. And let just say some of you don't like latter.

This also does not indicate that anyone is to practice prophecy. If you're going to prophecy, just do it. If God is going to speak directly through someone, I don't think He requires practice.

A practiceing physician is a Dr who is serving the sick and using what he has been taught.

Practicing prophecy is putting to use the gift God has given.

Those with the gift have been provoked and hurrased by the world and christians alike into not using the gift as God intends it to be used. I for one am sick of it i am going to use the gift as God intended it to be used. We dont have enough time left to worry about what people think or dont think about us or our gift. I am what God made me and i plan on using what God has given me. Anmd would encourage others to do the same. Time is short and there remains a world full of lost and blind. Now isnt the time to questian the gift now is the time to use it.

You are right! It is or it isn't there is no middle ground here. As a matter of fact it could be a form of witchcraft.

So you mean doing prophecy, not practice in the sense of a football player preparing for a football game.

Practicing prophecy is putting to use the gift God has given.

If it's a matter of learning how to speak in public, overcome social barriers, and become more confident, I can agree with that.
