They have been told that the moon is 385,000 kms away and they check this themselves. Simple maths. Simple observations. Schoolkids can do this. Here's two ways that you can do it: Do-It-Yourself Guide to Measuring the Moon's Distance - Universe Today. Universities as I noted use their obervatories to teach students how to do it.

And the ancient Greeks weren't told how far away the moon was but they worked it out themselves. In 400BC for heaven's sake! Who told them to keep it a secret and why?

And they're all in on a conspriracy to deceive you. So all of the tens of thousands of students, schoolkids and amateur astronomers across the world have been contacted by...someone...and told to keep the real distance a secret.

Who contacted them and why?

That is a nice little system, kinda like a paint by numbers. Give them all the numbers and say go check this for yourself.

Why do they not use the triangulation.

Kids do. They use lunar eclipse info to work it out. Did you do trigonometry in school? Piece of cake. One of the links I gave show you how to do it.

But you aren't explaining why everyone comes up with pretty much the same answer. Including the ancient Greeks. Were the Greeks part of this conspiracy 2,400 years ago? Is everyone part of a conspiracy to hide the facts from you? That's what you're claiming and you've made no attempt to justify it at all.

Anyway, unless you have some explanation...

They are just using numbers, if the same groups was given that the circumference of the earth was 100,000 they would come up with a moon a millions of miles away.

Nope. The trig works pretty well if the earth was flat. You only need measurements a couple of thousand miles apart. Whether those points are on a flat surface or a curved one hardly matters.

But you're not answering any of the questions. All you're doing is showing your lack of knowledge of basic science and maths - which isn't really helping your claim.

Why are these thousands of people, non-scientists, schoolkids, amateurs and ancient Greeks determined to keep the truth from you?

A really bad attempts at trying to create a cast shadow from the moon on to a globe earth.

A Chinese satellite orbiting the Moon has captured an awe-inspiring perspective at the shadowy spot over Earth during last week’s total solar eclipse. Scientists controlling China’s DSLWP-B micro satellite, released the stunning image on social media after the solar eclipse was photographed from lunar orbit on July 2. The satellite took a total of six pictures during the solar eclipse, which were then beamed back to Beijing and Dwingeloo, in the Netherlands.

China has quite a few bad attempts at faking the earth and space, etc... another one.

Why are the Chinese in on this attempt to hide the truth? Why are they doing this?

You want to prove something scientifically, recreate with two spheres and a light (for the sun) the photo image. That is stated as being an image of the moon casting a shadow on the earth (the black spot on the earth in the photo).

So demonstrate scientifically, that this is possible, for a sphere to cast a small shadow (circular in shape) upon another sphere. While the rest of the sphere is bathed in light.

It is spiritual, you would not understand, it starts in Genesis.

So your answer to the problem as to why people are trying to deceive you in relation to scientific matters relates to a religious belief in a literal interpretation of Genesis? Gee, you should have said straight up that it was a religious objection.

It's an eclipse. Even schoolkids know this. The shadow moves across the face of our planet. How can you argue against something when you don't show any indication whatsoever that you understand any of this?

Ok you can post an illustration, which is common in nasa/science. What is not common are actual recreations of what is stated as happening.

So show it, show photographic models: stills or video of this happening.

Good grief, d...

Here's one for Grade 2 kids. I hope you can follow it.

Oh so in the demonstration, the demonstrator gets to place their moon sphere right next to the earth sphere. Not even coming close to the moon sphere, being any distance away from the earth sphere like science states.

Oh and where is the small shadow, that one looks like it covers a whole continent at one time. If he was to back the sphere back, just a few inches, the shadow would cover the whole earth sphere.

I guess in away when people do these scientific demos like the one posted from youtube.

They are really admitting that the moon is actually close to earth. Without having to outright admit the moon is not actually 230,000 miles out in space.

It's an illustration of what happens, man. What's to be done when you're shown an illustration that eight year olds can use to understand the concept but it's beyond your ability to grasp? What hope is there when you don't understand Grade 2 information?

Well, I guess what I could do is show you an accurate scale model in operation:

(I see now that, that must have been my computer being slow as the video is not out of focus)
So when we get to see the supposed measurements at the begging of the video, they are out of focus. Really good video to keep the lie going.

So in this persons youtube video, how ever big his model earth is. If it is close to a ping pong ball in size, then his light source should be.

500 yards
Earth. The planet Earth. The universe is a big place, but let's cut it down to size by making the Earth the size of a Ping-Pong ball. On that scale it would be placed 500 yards (460 meters) from the Sun.

So if he had a huge spotlight and put it half a kilometer from the ping pong ball, what would happen to the size of the shadow the 'moon' was making? You can do this yourself with a torch and two objects.

Put the torch next to the object to cast a shadow and the shadow will be quite large. Move the torch away and the shadow will grow smaller until it's pretty much the same size as the object.

If you want the maths and lots of nice diagrams then go here: During an eclipse, how big is the shadow of the moon on the earth?
