So you believe Zeus and Yahweh are both equally valid options? You can't deduce any important differences in the nature of their being or in the nature of the faiths they give? People don't even believe in Zeus anymore, so why would you choose some lightning god over a God who people have believed in for more than 4,000 years?

You have to remember most youth in the past 20 years have been raised on comic books of superheroes without exposure to the Bible other than the skeptics annotated version.

True. I wasn't saved until God got me to actually pick up the Bible and read it.

Prove that the God of Abraham does not exist.

He already eliminated the Bible from discussion with his #5 point.

In legal terms it is called impeaching a witness without cause.

I believe it is also a false dilemma. Meaning we can only know things through science.

I shudder at the thought on Valentine's day for some to present their loved ones with a lab blood panel showing them how scientifically they love them.

Yeah, what you said.....

LOL. These threads are all the same.

"Prove to me God exists based on these stipulations I present."

I do understand why some will only accept scientific evidence. It's an approach from materialism. In that approach much evidence is thrown out as in historical or eyewitness testimony due to the observer in the here and now not able to tangibly examine.

Such people will get what they are asking for either through humble contrite approach to God or worse when He comes again. That will be all the physical subjective proof they will need.

You know how it is the questions most people ask themselves:

Why do I exist?
What's the meaning of life?
Does God exist?
Will there be world peace?
Why is the human race so stupid?
One day could I be as cool and smart as Christians are. :p

You forgot "will I win the Powerball one day?" :)

Why do these kinds of people even bother signing up in the first place?

Maybe to float term papers?

Some have said entertainment value. A few admitted to me to proselytize anti-theism. Some are just curious and perhaps some truly seek answers to questions.

They post we answer and the cycle is repeated.

A part of me thinks that some of these people WANT to find God, that they've been poked and prodded into coming here (but yet they don't understand by Whom or why) and they ask questions like this, not knowing that deep down, God is trying to stir them into coming to Him, but yet their carnal minds deny God and seek physical proof because they don't yet believe.

Hopefully one of us says something that will turn them towards God and He can finally break through.

Ehhh, im getting the exact opposite vibe from the OP's post. A person who seeks to draw closer to God asks totally different questions. This guy has purposely shut out all the ways a believer could prove Gods existence. What ever his motives or intensions are they can't be of any good. Im leaning more towards redleghunters post where he stated "Some have said entertainment value."

Yet I have a Catholic good friend who was pointed to God by his research of the Shroud of Turin. I pinged him and hope he pays a visit.

:sigh: I really hate to go off topic but..

Do you really think it was "God" who pointed "your friend" to "Catholicism"; a branch of Christianity littered with paganism?! These are the same people that gave themselves the authority to rewrite Gods 10 Commandments. No one else did this, just them. Furthermore they teach that one can confess their sins to one of their priest and have them forgiven. I thought our Lord was the only one who could forgive our sins.

I don't see how the Catholic Church can teach that a man has the authority to forgive sins. It's against the Bible.

Psalms 130:4
"But with you there is forgiveness." A man cannot forgive the sins of another person. The only sins a man can forgive are those against him directly. Jesus said we should forgive those who sin against us. But how can a priest, or any human being, forgive sins which are not against him directly. Only God can do that.

But that is not how rationalism and empiricism work. We live in the natural, not the spiritual. You are trying to tap-dance to say "god done it" without giving me scientific proof. Just answer the question using scientific evidence.
You live in the natural. I live in the spiritual...not limited by empirical evidence alone.

"Face it, you wouldn't believe in Allah, or Buddha, or Kali, or Krishna unless they appeared right in front of you.
Its not so much that I do not believe that they exist, there's no reason why in some respect they may not after all (perhaps they are the aliens of the panspermia).
But I do not believe in them, they cannot be trusted and in fact (whether within or without the religious systems they come from) it is ultimately irrelevant whether or not they exist at all.
The G-d of Abraham, Joshua, Moses, John the Baptist and Paul, on the other hand, is the space-less, timeless, all knowing, all powerful Creator of the universe. The G-d that was revealed to Abraham is the necessarily existent being without which nothing exists at all. When Moses asked who it was that sent him he was told: "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'", this is the Name of the G-d of Moses.
The G-d of Abraham can be trusted and uniquely in religious experience has committed to at least 2 unilateral covenants at the expense of His own life.
Therefore I can believe in the G-d of Abraham.

Scientific Proof: There's is no reliable or falsifiable evidence for the existence of any god or gods. There is, on the other hand, an abundance of good evidence that gods (Abrahamic or otherwise) are a product of the human imagination.
What is science?

Let me ask you this, if I was a Muslim and I told you that my god was true and I did not present any evidence, what would you say?
Read the Koran and see if your god is "true".
