• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are you trying to say that the New Covenant changes the Law of the Old?

Yes. Or no. Depends on which version of Jesus you believe. On the one hand there's the "I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law". On the other hand, you get the "What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.'" Jesus. So the law still applies, only it kind of doesn't 10 chapters later when it's useful for the story.

I guess the best part about believing that God gives us an unchanging absolute morality is that there are so many different ones to pick and choose from depending on what you need at the moment.

In fairness, witch burnings are all people, nothing to do with God.

Just like everything else in Christianity. I don't see why you get to single out certain things when everything that happens in Christianity is because of stuff Christians do.

Arrogance is the absence of love.
That's neither the definition for arrogance, nor for love.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
The question wasn't whether you believe in Jesus, but which version of Jesus you believe in.

Vengeance belongeth unto God. God alone. :) God is all.
This has little to do with the topic.

You can quote multiple people in one post. Please do this.

God is all, that is proof.

The godless universe is all. That is proof too, by those (non)standards of proof. That was easy.

Don't worry, those who reject God, believe in that. :)
Believe in what? Freedictionary?

Jesus is eternal. A kindergartner can understand.
What version of Jesus do you believe in? Whether Jesus has changed or not is not up to debate; the question was: which version of Jesus do you believe in?

3 strikes...as they say.
This has absolutely nothing to do with the topic.

God is all, that is proof.
No. No, it's not. God doesn't exist, and he doesn't prove anything.

So yes, this lines up with the topic.
No. Not at all.

Doubt in God is a delusion, a pathetic one at that. :)
I thought only God was allowed to pass judgement?
