So what is the background you were using to assess the size of the Earth in NASA's photographs?

The "countries of the world" are mostly hidden under a swirling mass of cloud. Even if they weren't, the Earth and satellite would almost certainly not be in the same relative positions when the photographs were taken. In the extreme case, a satellite parked directly over the north pole would take a completely different photograph from one parked by one parked directly over the south pole, but that would in no way justify you in claiming that they weren't both completely accurate photographs of the Earth.

It would be wise for anyone who believes NASA imagery of earth to first study the history of silicon computer processing technology.

The progress of silicon processing units.

The progress of "code" from operating systems to software.

The progress of digital computer graphical imagery.

The history of 2D-3D graphical rendering.

The progression of screen resolutions and the advancement of it's technology from analogue cathode to digital LCD and digitally beyond.

The progression of graphical processing chips. Intel, NVIDIA and AMD.

The progression of graphical processing chips achieving real time rendering from 10 Frames Per Second all the way up to 144 Frames Per Second, and the advancement of 2D-3D images for the human eye.

The progression of Microsofts DirectX API and Open GL.

The progress of two independent 2D digital screens to produce Virtual Reality

I can still do it with their 64 bit successors, although, of course, the 8254 chip has been succeeded by the HPET; the 8259A by the APIC, and, more recently, by MSIs. Naturally, it is more common nowadays to program in something like C, C# or PHP, depending upon the context.

The questions would be, what is the point of faking a global earth if it is really flat??

If the earth was flat, a 12 hour commercial flight would have a massive difference in distance traveled as compared to flying over a curvature, unless the instrument on board every aircraft is rigged,....and all this cover up to serve what purpose?
