  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If what you choose to do with it is legal, then yes I do.

Oh ok, I get it, so so long as what I do doesn't break mans law, I don't have to worry about breaking God's Law. If it was perfectly man-legal for me to murder people, just go ahead and do it?

Or do you think humans are bound by a much higher Law and that is God's Law and to Hell with what man has made for it is all dust before a Holy and Righteous God?

Sure, but God doesn't say anything about abortion. If anything, he says that a fetus doesn't equal a person in Leviticus. Abortion was happening in Biblical times, and you'd think if it was verboten someone would have written something about it.

That is right, God's law rules over anything and everything, trumps man's law and we are even called to discard mans law that contradicts God's law. Unbelief in the sovereignty of God's law is unbelief in God.

Actually God has a lot to say about abortion:
Can you be a Christian and be pro-choice

Lux et Lex,
Its pointless arguing with you as you seem to have your own rules.
The Biblical testimony of God does not use the word foetus or use the concept any more than it uses the word abortion and its modern concept. Yet you use one freely and disregard the other. Until you can look at the Biblical testimony to receive the revelation rather than use it to support your own agenda there can be no meaningful debate.

If anything, he says that a fetus doesn't equal a person in Exodus.
On the contrary He says that if harm is done then take life for life.

No, He says if it results in a miscarriage, there is a fine, but if harm is done then limb for limb, etc.

That is a statement made by people completely ignorant of scripture and a complete Fail:

If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely[a] but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.

You cannot add to or take away from this scripture it is what it is and says "If she gives birth prematurely the man is to be fined"

The definition of a premature birth is not miscarriage. You are taking liberty with the text that the text clearly does not support in order to try and condone your own beliefs rather than taking a biblical belief.

As for that page on abortion you linked to:

Trying to use the excuse that God did not directly address abortion so therefore it is ok is exactly the same as saying God did not directly address the enslavement of african americans therefore we should just go back to enslaving them because God didn't directly say it was not ok, in fact God talks of slavery in the Bible in a positive sense, so lets just do it. Ridiculous and lacking in any use of Biblical morality

It is filled with strawman arguments designed to be easy for the writer to refute such as "God and/or Jesus are nothing but lifeless dummies, requiring "Christian Conservative" ventriloquists to speak for them?"

Clearly the fool who wrote that does not know their bible as he says abortions are not mentioned when in fact they are as clearly demonstrated in my article.

The ridiculous logical fallacy that this author thinks they can apply one of the ten commandments thou shalt not kill to anything but human life when the commandments were given to humanity for humanity is laughable to say the least.

If you want to believe so poorly a written document based on ridiculous logical fallacies and NOT ONE PIECE OF SCRIPTURE to back themselves up with this provides clear insight into a viewpoint that is in direct opposition to Christ.

In effect, you countered with nothing, not one scrap of credible evidence and not one refutation for all the scripture I gave you.

So which of those words is foetus or abortion according to the question put to you?
Find some real, non-biased facts and we'll talk.

Yes, your "pro life" propaganda is SO convincing. Find some real, non-biased facts and we'll talk.

By unbiased, you mean not the Bible or God then because that would conflict with your personal opinion you hold to so dearly.

If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely[a] but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined
So the crux of the matter is - does the original language properly translate as "miscarries" or "gives birth prematurely"?

It is a premature birth, a miscarriage would be the death of the child and as a result the death of the man whom caused it.
