Some say it's the grace given to all mankind which enables them to take a step towards God.
My problem is that the Bible says all men are opposed to God. If they all, without exception have prevenient grace from the outset then something doesn't ring true. None of them would be opposed to God.
I thought elsewhere you have said that "all" means "some"? Is the switch here to the generalization a matter of convenience? John 3:17 says "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." Maybe He was mistaken or meant something different.
Paul
Acts 7:51-52
"You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit!
What is the Holy Spirit doing for them that they are resisting?
The Holy Spirit is waiting for God to to draw them in His own time. Faith comes by hearing and only to those who have ears to hear....
Jesus says, 'He stands and knocks at the door of our hearts. If we hear, we are warned to let Him in and sup (fellowship), with Him and the Father. And He also warns that if we hear but don't respond, our hearts will harden, thus making it more difficult for ourselves....
How does one have ears to hear? How did that happen?
Where does Jesus say this?
I didn't know my heart had a door. Maybe I should talk to my doctor.

What is your point Hammster or are you mocking?
Rev...3:20
You obviously don't know that God speaks to us spiritually.
Nothing in that verse about my heart having a door.
Aren't you quibbling? The word is now removed...is that better?
Not quibbling. Just saying that the verse doesn't say what you say it says.

Not to mention, Jesus was talking to the church of believers at Laodicea.
Perfect example of ignoring the sin in your own camp, so to speak, in order to accomplish the bigger goal of destroying Calvinism. Why don't you help your fellow synergist understand Rev. 3:20?
