It’s been his strategy all the way along. Take credit for anything good and have mechanisms or people to blame for any problem. Why else would some stooge take all the risk for the Stormy payout?

I’d take a Drano enema over being Cohen right now.covfefe.sad.

President Stable Genius has decided to clear it all up for us. :D

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

"Mr. Cohen, an attorney, received a monthly retainer, not from the campaign and having nothing to do with the campaign, from which he entered into, through reimbursement, a private contract between two parties, known as a non-disclosure agreement, or NDA. These agreements are....."

"...very common among celebrities and people of wealth. In this case it is in full force and effect and will be used in Arbitration for damages against Ms. Clifford (Daniels). The agreement was used to stop the false and extortionist accusations made by her about an affair,......"

"...despite already having signed a detailed letter admitting that there was no affair. Prior to its violation by Ms. Clifford and her attorney, this was a private agreement. Money from the campaign, or campaign contributions, played no roll in this transaction."

So apparently his position now is that he did pay her off, but nothing happened, he just handed her $130,000 for no reason. Also he still can't spell role. :D

His memory has improved, which is a good thing.

I just hope the people who have defended him at every step of his crumbling retreat on this and other issues are also equipped with functioning memories.

Maybe, maybe not. But I'm sure their guns are functioning.

Giuliani got it right. The president liked his performances. He got Cohen off the hook. Cohen paid off Stormy (and others) and Trump reimbursed him by means of monthly "retainer" payments. As Giuliani said, this is what fixers (and lawyers) do. It is not clear that Cohen did anything illegal, except hushing up Trump's involvement in a possible Federal Energy Commission violation (not reporting Trump's personal donation to the campaign).

The bottom line is that Giuliani gets Cohen off the hook, and show support for him. Admitting that Trump lied about the payment is really no big deal.
--------
The much bigger story is that Trump and Cohen won't tell the Trump's DC lawyers what was in the documents in Cohen's office. Also, Trump has gotten rid of the last of the old group of lawyers, and is preparing to fight Mueller and impeachment with his new lawyer who successfully defended Clinton.

Well, I think we can assume that information about the payment was there, and that's why they're damaging themselves by exposing the president's previous lie themselves, rather than risk the greater damage of someone else exposing it.

Lying by the president is not illegal. Otherwise, he'd be serving a life sentence.

The big threat is that Cohen flips and testifies about all that he knows about previous Trump dealings with Russia.

Since we now know that Trump is (or was) taking Propecia, I'm not so sure this is true...
