Sarah,

i have been where you are. i was in the room when a loved one passed away. i was there to hear the sounds of the lungs filling with fluids and that bubbling sound! It was truly awful! I understand sister! I understand! Please remember that God will give you the strength to go through all things! Try to stay on the positive side of everything! I know it sounds weird to say that, but it will help! Satan will try to bring you down to with dwelling on the negative and sadness, etc. Don't let him do that to you! Stay strong in the Lord my dear! He is the great comforter!

Remember, you and your mother are in our prayers!

I just wanted to let you all know that my dad passed away last night. Sometime around 4am. We got the call when the nurse found him at 4:20ish.

We got a call yesterday saying there was nothing they could do, and to come down because it could be any time. It was awful. We were there from 4-11:30..but finally had to leave to get some sleep and such. He was struggling to breathe and in a coma. His lungs were so full of fluids it bubbled every breath. What an awful sound.

It was sad we had left when he passed, but in a way I'm glad I didn't see his last breath. :(

Dealing with a lot right now, there's so much to be done. :sigh:

He was 52 as of March 26th this year.

I'm so sorry to hear that. :( Praying for you and your mom. :prayer:

Oh Sarah--I'm so sorry--there are just no words to express my sorrow for you.

I too watched as my son-in-law (32ys), struggled and died of cancer.

Praying that the Comforter will surround you and your Mom at this time. Go bless little sister!

Sarah, I am praying for you and your family.

Please stay strong and lean on Christ, and remember He wept over Lazarus and is weaping with you too.

Thanks guys.

I've been handling it okay, actually. It's my mom I worry about. Especially with the funeral on Sunday..:( 99% of the people there she either wont know or they probably won't like her..cause my dad spoke bad of her a lot. So she's kinda scared she'll be shunned, apart from me.

Hi Sarah,

I'm sorry for your loss. You have handled this difficult situation with much courage!

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain: In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened, And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low; Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets: Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity. ...Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

May you continue to seek God for strength and guidance.

Hi Sarah,

I've been unable to be at the computer for the last week and have just now read all of this. As someone who has wittnessed the deaths of loved ones, incliding parents, friends, and strangers, let me assure you it is never easy. There is only one constant for those of us who are left to deal with the loss and that is our Creator's promise that someday there will be no more death or sorrow and He will personaly be there to wipe the tears away from our eyes. Here is somthing that I have found great personal comfort in. I pray that you and your mom will find strength and comfort in it too.
SOMEDAY....

Hey guys,

Thanks again for all the support. I'm sorry I haven't properly replied to most of you in awhile..Haven't really had the focus, and there's been soooo many people to contact. I've been reading your messages, though. :)

Funeral is tomorrow. So far that seems to be going okay, we're just praying my mom's health holds up to make it through the whole thing...and that people don't shun her.

Today was supposed to be a rest day for the both of us (not Sabbath, on her part, but resting regardless)..but it didn't happen. We found out we have some major water leaks coming in through the ceilings of two different bedrooms in our apartment. We had it in hers last spring, due to the fact the cement is crumbling on the outside above her window...aparently it came back and multiplied. We spent half the day moving furniture and curtains to try and save them from the water! So much for no stress before the funeral. :( It appears we'll have to get the strength to move as soon as possible, too..as she's severely allergic to mold. (Last thing we need, she's been having major problems with her health issues the past couple weeks..including a lot of lung pain.)

How many more things can go wrong? :sigh: Nonetheless, I have faith God won't give us more than we can take..it could certainly be a lot worse, and I trust Him.

Yikes!

Did you contact the landlord about it?
The super, yes. But they don't have anyone on staff to even look at it untill Monday. Last spring it took two months before they fixed it temporarily. The first two times they sent a plumber!!! Oy.

The guy had to hang out of my mom's window 17 stories up to caulk (spelling?) the hole, cause it's all he could do. This time it'll be up to the building to get in a proper company..but...I somehow doubt they'll be in a rush. They're already getting the whole exterior of their other building refinished from the same problem. :swoon:

Sheesh little sister! You might want to mention your mom's mold allergy. Once they know that, they're obligated to get it handled and el pronto!
Really? We have mentioned it before, but they just sorta act like there won't be any mold. I dunno, it'll be interesting to see what happens on Monday. If they really cared they woulda ripped her ceiling down last year to let it dry out, but they just shrugged it off.

It's a huge building, and a huge company..not as worried about the little people, you know? Which is why we'll have to move. Not to mention the whole building is cement..and..if parts are starting to crumble..oy.
