Just quickly, I need to get to sleep.

Dad's in the hospital. He's not even able to really communicate or anything anymore, and we're not sure he really is understanding what's going on. Gull stones are causing his liver to shut down (his fault, he skipped surgery and never told anyone last year). That mixed with the fact he's having breathing problems and starting to not be able to swallow anymore...there's a very high possibility he is going to die shortly.

If the docs figure they can help him tomorrow, he'll be operated on. If not, he'll be sent back home to die. The surgery could kill him too, though.

So..yeah. :( Prayers for strength now. With all my mom's going through, she's been called to be at the hosptial for all of this now too. Not easy on us.

Hi Sarah,

I just wanted to pass on this response from one of my prayer groups.

Your friend and brother in Christ,
Doc

Thank you for sharing your prayer request with us. The staff at Amazing Facts gathers each morning for worship and prayer and we want to assure you that we will be lifting you up to God in prayer.

Remember: "Prayer is the answer to every problem in life. It puts us in tune with divine wisdom which knows how to adjust everything perfectly. So often we do not pray in a certain situation, because from our standpoint, the outlook is hopeless. But nothing is impossible with God."

Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

Spent the day at the hospital again. He's only getting worse. Unless there's dramamtic improvement he wouldn't even be able to go back to the home, because they aren't capable of taking care of someone in his state now. He's not even nodding anymore or really able to move much..let alone eat or drink.

It'll be back to the hospital tomorrow to see any more updates..assuming he makes it that long. :sigh:

Just wanted to also thank you for the PM's I've been recieving about this. :) I really appreciate the support. Right now time online is very limited, so if you don't see a reply straight away that's why. I'm reading them, though! I'll try to at least keep this thread updated, and get back to any PM's when I get a chance.

Thanks again, guys.

Today was really sad. We went back to see him and he's doing even worse. Which is bad, considering we didn't think he could get much worse. Been declining daily since Monday. Now he's not even opening his eyes or responding when people talk to him or touch him.

Docs are trying one last thing over the weekend. If that doesn't show improvement..my mom and I have a huge decision to make. Since he can't eat and refused the feeding tube in his living will thingy, we have to decide whether to keep him on IV and let him starve to death slowly (could take months)..or take him off of it and let him pass away from dehydration a lot faster. Neither one is really the good choice, is it? Best I can figure is leave him on IV for a month (3 more weeks), as he once said he'd want life support for a month and if no improvement to be taken off. Then..if God's going to heal him, that's a whole month worth of change. Beyond that it's just torture for him.

I don't know what we'll do..or even if he'll survive the weekend to get to that point.

To think..I went to visit him Monday, the day before he was sent to the hospital..and he was sitting up and talking to me a bit, moving...eating....we went outside and sat in the garden..:(

No it's not a good choice either way. Your dad, you and your mom are in my prayers.

I just wanted to let you all know that my dad passed away last night. Sometime around 4am. We got the call when the nurse found him at 4:20ish.

We got a call yesterday saying there was nothing they could do, and to come down because it could be any time. It was awful. We were there from 4-11:30..but finally had to leave to get some sleep and such. He was struggling to breathe and in a coma. His lungs were so full of fluids it bubbled every breath. What an awful sound.

It was sad we had left when he passed, but in a way I'm glad I didn't see his last breath. :(

Dealing with a lot right now, there's so much to be done. :sigh:

He was 52 as of March 26th this year.
