Hello, all. I've been having a hard day against temptations, though I've matured enough in the faith to understand that some days are just like this. It's an opportunity to be more strongly with God, and one way I've been doing this is by reading through the Psalms. Why I thought of the Psalms in particular, I don't know, but they came to mind & I went with it.

What I'm writing down as my prayer is from Psalm 25. The heading says "Prayer for Guidance & Help", and that seemed like a good one for me to read right now. Every time I look over it, different parts stand out; it's very well-written, and I think reading this over as prayers for me & for you would be very helpful. Just taking a few minutes to be calm & be with God is terribly underrated, especially with people (myself included) sometimes skipping over posts here because they're too long. Why? So we make an insultingly short comment on 2 posts instead? I'm copying the Psalm, not with Ctrl+C, but actually typing it out from what I'm reading in my Bible. Copying things down this way is much better for committing it to memory. Copying by hand is far better, but this is online, so typing made a good compromise.

"To you I life up my soul,
O Lord, my God.
In you I trust; let me not be put to shame,
let not my enemies [temptations] exult over me.
No one who waits for you shall be put to shame;
those shall be put to shame who heedlessly break faith.

Your ways, O Lord, make known to me;
teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God and my savior,
and for you I wait all the day.

Remember that your compassion, O Lord,
And your kindness are from of old.
The sins of my youth and my frailties remember not;
in your kindness remember me,
because of your goodness, O Lord.

Good and upright is the Lord;
thus he shows sinners the way.
He guides the humble to justice
he teaches the humble his way.

All the paths of the Lord are kindness and constancy toward those who keep his covenant and his decrees.
For your name's sake, O LOrd,
you will pardon my guilt, great as it is.

When a man fears the Lord,
he shows him the way he should choose.
He abides in prosperity,
and his descendants inherit the land.
The friendship of the Lord is with those who fear him,
and his covenant, for their instruction.
My eyes are ever toward the Lord,
for he will free my feet from the snare.

Look toward me, and have pity on me,
for I am alone and afflicted.
Relieve the troubles of my heart,
and bring me out of my distress.
Put an end to my affliction and my suffering,
and take away all my sins.
Behold, my enemies are many,
and they hate me violently.
Preserve my life, and rescue me;
let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,
because I wait for you, O Lord.

Redeem Israel [& me], O God, from all its distress!
