CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A very great man of God has been promoted to heaven. Pastor Michael Jarvis. We shall miss him in our church. He has left a legacy in his sons. Simon,Jon and Julian. Praying for his wife Mavis,a great woman of God!

Our former Pastors wife Peggy Garner was promoted to glory this morning. She was a delightful woman of God. She is now reunited with Albert Garner. What an annointed couple they were. Now in glory.

In one of my prayer books is a prayer which came from Brigid, an Irish woman who founded a community in Kildare and was well known for her hospitality and generosity.

Yes, we play at 2 homes, one has dementia old people, the other has people in their own flats within the building.
Another team from Church do 2 other homes at the same time using the same hymns.
In the afternoon, another home is visited. I don't go in the afternoon,
The retired vicar who runs the care team is so good, and cares for the old folks.
Everyone loved the hymns and sang if they could.

I think the thing that thrilled me most was the small group that meets in the old folks flats. The short service turned into an almost housegroup... with 2 of the folks sharing deep spiritual thoughts with us.
