  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thanks for the prayers for my husband. Please continue to pray for him. He said he felt some better this morning.

Also, thanks all who prayed for us for guidance about whether or not to seek a new church. We had been at our current church for 9 years. We don't change churches easily or readily. It's a big deal with us. We do feel that the Lord is leading us to a different church and we are about to make that change this Sunday. We have spoken to our current pastor. He said he kinda saw this coming and had come to terms with it. He gave us his blessing to go. I was happy he was so gracious about it. (Sometimes pastors just don't get a "witness" on this kind of thing if you know what I mean.;)) So anyway, thanks to all who prayed about that and especially to Ariel, who I believed had some words which seemed a bit "prophetic" to us about our situation.

I just got back from my disabled son's day program. He had a health problem and had to be picked up. He is ok and just came home to rest, nothing serious.

However, while I was gone my oldest son called said he had been backed into by a truck. I assumed he meant while in his car. He works for an auto parts supply company. BUT I just talked to him and found out he was at work at the loading Dock and a truck backed into him personally. His body was pinned between the loading dock and the truck. He is heading to emerg in the ambulance for xrays and stuff. His lower back is very sore I don't think he has any numbness in his legs and he can move around and walk so PTL for that.

I would appreciate prayer for him. Thanks so much. Jan

I'm spending some time over the next couple of days specifically seeking God: firstly for some friends where there is serious illnes in the family, and secondly for direction in my own life. It is so hard waiting for God's promises to come to fulfillment (although I praise Him for His provision in the meantime). I need to make sure I don't go off in a wrong direction, and that He makes His way clear at the right time. I would also pray that there will be no obstacles in the right path. Right now I find it tough to keep-going and would love to have a short break. Also I am awaiting some (possibly life-changing) information from a professional, who is extremely busy, and keeps getting delayed in bringing it to me.

I'd appreciate a moment's prayer from anyone who could just "stand" with me in these issues. I believe there is power in that. Many thanks, and thanks for being the sort of people I could ask.

Sue :)

Praying.

Thank you all. My sister also prayed for the safetly of our whole family. I really appreciated that as hubby is driving the Squamish Whistler HWY todaywith several of his charges from work. A Huge rock slide a week ago Monday closed it for several days. One of his co workers refused to go on the trip today said his wife wouldn't let him. I wasn't concerned really about his safety as it is generally very safe, but her prayer made me realize that often we are under attack from the enemy and don't even know it. My sis was covering ALL BASES> PTL>

Jan, praying for protection for your whole family, and that your son's injuries are not serious and will heal quickly.

Kaykay, continuing to pray for your husband's health, and for the easing of his work pressure. Also about your new church on Sunday. How nice that your current pastor gave his blessing. (It reminds me of the first line of Psalm 133.)

Thank you for your prayers for me and my friends. I know we are in His hands; praise Him and thank you.

Sue

I peeked in here for the first time in too long to leave a request for my daughter (the poor thing is on her own now, and sick with a stomach bug for the first time without Mom around to help. She woke us up at 5 am after several hours of vomiting, wondering what she should do. Two hours away from me feels like a thousand!) and my Prodigal son, who hasn't spoken much to us since getting back from Iraq and just finally DID so yesterday. We may have a chance to be with both of them tomorrow, depending on how our daughter feels.

But to find so many other compelling needs posted here, I feel badly for not seeing them sooner, I will add them to my own prayers as well. I'm so grateful to those who return to let us know how answers are developing, it's so encouraging . .

Thank you. She's already doing better, although not happy for having to miss a day of work. So it looks like we'll be able to get together with them tomorrown, God willing! I pray for a wise, kind, encouraging tongue where my son is concerned especially.

Prayng word dancer.
i am on holidays at my sisters place. she had to work today and about 10 am her hubby came in from outside in sever pain. I opted to called the 911 and he was taken to ER. It wasn't his heart which was my first concern but he is still there now 6 hours later and apparently they still are not sure what it was. He is more comfortable now and my sis is with him. Please pray. He has problems with his pancreas about 4 years ago so could be related. They are slated for holidays come the weekend. Yikes.
My son saw the physio yesterday but i am out of province so haven't spoken with him for an update. Thanks for all your prayers. Jan
