Wow . . it brought me to tears to find you've continued to pray for me even when I haven't checked in for so long. Thank you seems so inadequate. I've had my surgery (mastectomy on the right with the sentinal node probe finding NO cells in the lymph nodes, mercifully!) on Sept 3, and am home recovering . . speaking of boring *smiles*. I miss work, and have overdone things enough that they won't remove my drain yet. Hopefully Monday when I travel back to see both surgeons.
Then I consult with the oncologist, but the size of the tumor seems to leave everyone feeling that chemo is the wisest idea. As my farmer husband says, killing small weeds is a lot easier than letting them get massive and murder to eradicate. I'm convinced beyond doubt that God will see me through, but freely admit I'm not looking forward to it.
After that, one more surgery for exchanging the implant with the expander.
I cannot believe all the women who've had cancer, it's like an epidemic! It seems like everyone I talk to either is a survivor themselves, or has someone close who is. **shakes my head** Makes you wonder why . .
I will add your requests to my prayers . . for Annie's procedures, Kaykay's husband's recovery and whatever she's dealing with spiritually, for Jan's church, pastor & his family, her eyelid procedure and her friend, for Buttercup's friend, for Missmsdancerama's friends, all five of them . . especially for those who share my battle against cancer.
(I have kept a journal on a Caringbridge site, which has been immensely cathartic)
