  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

depressed and feeling low.
Please sister don't let the evil one win. Keep your eyes on Him and ask Him what He now has in store for you. Maybe your medical problem is the reason you're not working right now. Spend some time on that and see what the problem is. Get on your knees and talk with the one who is waiting for you.
Praying for you
Bonnie

Please pray for my friend's safe flight as he's on his flight now from Ireland to California and he's travelling on his own so Im worried about him! He's been there before but not on his own. He'll be home Sunday Please God and then he has to go back over again in about 3-4 weeks this time for a month or two! Oh God, How am I going to manage without him?! I love him so much...  :prayer:

Prayer works! It's such a pleasure and honor to be praying with and for each of you.

Praise the LORD, Hollow_Again has renamed "Don't PM Me To Feed My Pet" (snake) to Princess (chicken). God is softening all of our hearts.

I pray we remember each and every day to ask for a fresh infilling of Holy Spirit before logging on...and in each "step" we take.

He renamed his pet.

Yes prayer "works". Jesus said to keep asking, He wants us to continually go to Him with our requests.
In that way we also learn to depend on Him and realize that God is the source of all good things He bestows on us.

Yes, I like how The Word uses the words Keep on, Continue, and Continually, a lot:) It's His Goodness that leads us to repentance, from glory to glory.

Celebrating Disappointment

READ: Psalm 30
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing. —Psalm 30:11

After receiving his second Academy Award, Denzel Washington said to his family, “I told you, if I lost tonight, I’d come home and we’d celebrate. And if I won tonight, I’d come home and we’d celebrate.” Denzel, a Christian, was trusting God, whether in blessing or in disappointment.
A Christian couple I know were inspired to follow Denzel’s example. The woman was applying for a dream job that had just opened up where she worked. The interview went well, but she knew she might not get the position. Her husband suggested, “Let’s make reservations at our favorite restaurant this Friday to celebrate—no matter what the outcome.”
Soon the news came that someone else was offered the job. But that Friday the disappointed couple still celebrated. While eating a delicious meal, they were able to count their blessings and renew their faith in the God who holds tomorrow’s opportunities in His hand.
When the psalmist counted his blessings, he was lifted out of his despair and praised God, saying, “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing” (Ps. 30:11).
Are you facing a situation in which you could be disappointed? Why not set up a celebration to count your blessings no matter what the outcome? —Dennis Fisher

Thank God in your disappointment,
Celebrate His grace and love;
Know that He will never leave you
And will bless you from above. —D. De Haan

The pain of disappointment is soothed by a heart of gratitude.

This was from my devotional I read today. Some of us have sometimes not received the answered prayer that we thought we should have. This kind of opened my eyes as to how we should handle this answere to prayer.
