CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Heavenly Father,
We broach Your throne of grace so that we can humble ourselves before You and ask that You give a hedge of protection around our troops that are over in Iraq and elsewhere. Lord, as other armies went into battle and You watched over them, we ask that You so look over these brave young men and women who are giving of themselves so that we can be safe. I pray Lord, that politics aside, that those in command do all they can, that You give them the discernment to keep them safe and make wise decisions. Lord, just as you confused enemies in the past, I pray that You confuse the enemies that wish to kill our young as they fight for the freedoms of this country.
In Jesus Mighty Name!

I'd like to ask my friends here for a personal prayer.
In the past few months I feel like I have not been serving the Lord properly. I don't know what has gotten into me, but I want to confess that I haven't been good at reading the word, devotions or prayer.
Personally, I feel these things are pillars of keeping in holiness before our Father. I don't know if I'm putting too much pressure on myself, or what, but I just don't feel "right". I know that God loves me and I don't think he is angry at me. However, I feel like I have slipped somewhat and I really want to be closer to Him, because He has been the source of everything good in my life and lets face it ... He is worthy of praise, glory and honour at all times.
Create in me a clean heart oh God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me! You are my rock, my fortress and my deliverer. I trust only in you and you have always been there for me to lean upon.

Praying for you, but dont be too hard on yourself - God knows your heart and he knows what you are thinking and feeling. He will be with you as you go through this tough time. Hold onto him. There is a saying, when you reach rock bottom, then you find the rock (ie God)
